REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 8, 1982 <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS APPROVED - STREET SWEEPERS AND <br />DUMP BODIES AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR SINGLE -AXLE TRUCKS <br />Mr. Sean Watt, Director of the Division of Transportation, requested <br />Board approval for the advertising for the receipt of sealed bids <br />for the purchase of two street sweepers and dump bodies, central <br />hydraulic systems and related equipment for four single -axle <br />cabs and chassis. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the request was approved <br />and a bid date of November 29, 1982, was established for the <br />receipt of sealed bids. He noted that the purchase of the <br />above equipment would be made from proceeds of the.General <br />Obligation Bond issue. <br />APPROVE 1983 EMPLOYEE HOLIDAY SCHEDULE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the following employee holiday schedule for 1983 <br />was approved: <br />New Year's <br />Good Friday <br />Primary Election <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Day After Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Election Day <br />Veterans Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Day After Thanksgiving <br />Day Before Christmas Eve <br />Day After Christmas <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Monday, January 3, 1983 <br />Friday, April 1, 1983 <br />Tuesday, May 3, 1983 <br />Monday, May 30, 1983 <br />Monday, July 4, 1983 <br />Tuesday, July 5, 1983 <br />Monday, September 5, 1983 <br />Tuesday, November 8, 1983 <br />Friday, November 11, 1983 <br />Thursday, November 24, 1983 <br />Friday, November 25, 1983 <br />Friday, December 23, 1983 <br />Monday, December 26, 1983 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the following traffic control devices which were recom- <br />mended by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighitng as a result of the <br />Olive -Sample Overpass construction, were approved: <br />REMOVE 140 PARKING - On Kaley from Sample, north to <br />alley adjacent and parallel to Sample. <br />REMOVE STOP SIGN - On Kaley at Sample. <br />REMOVE STOP SIGN - Old driveway adjacent to and <br />south of Water Works Building at 915 S. Olive. <br />APPROVE MARINE CORPS RACE, HOLIDAY PARADE AND <br />VETERANS' DAY OBSERVANCE <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, recommended approval of the revised route submitted <br />by the Marine Corps League utilizing the Rum Village Route <br />and Donald Street where the Armed Forces Reserve Center was <br />located for the Marine 10K Run to be held on November 14, 1982, <br />starting at 8:00 a.m. It was noted that a change in the time <br />requested for the start of the race was necessary in order to <br />accommodate the three churches along the race route. <br />Mr. Wadzinski also recommended favorably the final route and <br />marshalling area for the Holiday Parade to be held on November <br />20, 1982, as follows: <br />Parade route: Jefferson Boulevard from Williams <br />to Service Court #5; Service Court #5 to <br />Washington Street; and Washington Street to <br />Lafayette Boulevard. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
