HM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 17, 1984 <br />Police Department investigation has shown that Mr. Hess has not <br />told the truth reference answering the question "have you ever <br />been convicted of a misdemeanor." Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, Mr. Vance's <br />recommendation to deny the license was approved. Mr. Vance <br />abstained from voting. It was noted that Mr. Hess will be <br />notified of the denial and given the opportunity to request a <br />public hearing on this matter if desired. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - SECONDHAND DEALER <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following secondhand dealers <br />license application has been received: <br />NAME: D & M USED CLOTHES AND FURNITURE <br />BY: Mable Karn <br />ADDRESS: 814 West Indiana Avenue <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Used clothes and furniture <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations <br />have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire <br />Department on the above application. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license <br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of a permit. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the following two (2) handicapped parking permit <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of permits: <br />Leo Golubski, 56066 Quince Rd., S.B. <br />Frank MacDonald, 528 S. 35th St., S.B. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond for C.E. Stafford Construction, Inc. be approved <br />effective December 17, 1984. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />Contractor's Bond was approved. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of forty-two (42) properties cleaned from December 10, 1984 <br />to December 14, 1984 was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. Jane Cleaver, Executive Director, St. Joseph County Job <br />Training Program submitted two (2) lists containing fifty-nine <br />(59) claims and recommended approval. Additionally, City <br />Controller Michael L. Vance submitted Claim Docket No. 24552 <br />through Claim Docket No. 25237 and recommended approval. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />claims were approved and the reports as submitted were filed. <br />
