414 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 29, 1984 <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 - CONSTRUCTION OF CITY CEMETERY <br />STORAGE BUILDING (REAR OF 214 NORTH ELM) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Kaser-Spraker Construction, Inc., <br />25487 W. State Road 2., P.O. Box 3605, South Bend, Indiana, has <br />submitted Change Order No. 1 for the above referred to project <br />indicating a change in twelve (12) construction items resulting <br />in a decreased contract amount of $17,900.00, making the new <br />contract sum including.this.Change Order $44,624.00. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the above Change Order No. 1 indicating this decrease <br />and new contract sum was approved. <br />1985 CITY EMPLOYEE HOLIDAY SCHEDULE REFERRED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance <br />and carried, the tentative 1985 City employee holiday schedule <br />for 1985 was referred to the City Controller's office for dis- <br />cussion in Union negotiations. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT <br />615 SOUTH FELLOWS STREET REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Don McManus, South Bend Heritage <br />Foundation, 1016 West Washington Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, <br />advised that the Foundation, in cooperation with the Department <br />of Redevelopment, is planning to relocate into Monroe Park the <br />house currently located at 601 Lincolnway East. The Foundation <br />has selected an appropriate site for the house, a vacant City - <br />owned lot at 615 South Fellows Street and would like to purchase <br />this lot from the City as soon as possible. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above <br />request was referred to the necessary City Departments and Bureaus <br />for a determination as to whether or not the City need retain the <br />lot for any reason. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, <br />requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately <br />sixteen (16) abandoned vehicles, four (4) of which are valued at <br />over $100.00 and all of.which are being stored at South Bend Auto <br />Parts, 1802 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted <br />that all vehicles have been stored more than thirty (30) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners <br />and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request.was approved <br />and a date of November 13, 1984 was established for the receiving <br />and opening of sealed bids. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the following four (4) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />REVISE TO 1-WAY STOP - At Davis on Olive. (Opening <br />of Olive Street overpass at Sample). <br />NEW INSTALLATION - STOP SIGN - On Technology Drive at <br />Brick Road. (Newly built street into Landmark <br />Business Park). <br />NEW INSTALLATION - STOP SIGN - On Mayflower Circle at <br />Mayflower Road. (For clarification of Records of <br />former state installation). <br />REVISE TO 1 HOUR PARKING 6A-6P EXCEPT SUNDAY - <br />2805-2809 W. Sample. (Requested by business to <br />promote curb space turnover). <br />I <br />
