397 REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 15, 1984 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m, on Monday, October 15, 1984, by President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Michael L. Vance Present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski, and carried, the minutes of the October 8, 1984, regular meeting of the Board were approved. OPENING OF BIDS - MONROE PARK PHASE VII PROJECT This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: HUNZIKERS, INC. Bid was signed by Jerry A. Hunziker, 24344 Yankee Street President and David J. DeWulf, P.O. Box 397 Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit Niles, Michigan 49120 was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $20,925.00 COUNTRY GARDEN, INC. Bid was signed by Larry Ross, President, d/b/a COUNTRY GARDEN LANDSCAPE and LeMar Ross, Secretary, Non- 62971 U.S. 31 South Collusion Affidavit was in order South Bend, Indiana 46614 and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL Upon AMOUNT OF BID: $19,034.40 a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering Department for review and recommendation. OPENING OF BIDS - RE -ROOFING OF BUILDING - 521 ECLIPSE PLACE (BUREAU OF HOUSING) This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: MIDLAND ENGINEERING COMPANY Bid was signed by John C. Steinmetz, 52369 U.S. 31 North President and J.F. Scott, Secretary, South Bend, Indiana 46637 Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $26,900.00 SLATILE ROOFING AND SHEET METAL Bid was.signed by Gerald A. Longerot, 1703 South Ironwood Dr. Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit South Bend, Indiana 46613 was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $24,700.00 ALTERNATE 1: ADD $5,800.00 IF WOOD DECK FOUND ROTTEN ADD $7.50 PER SQ. FT. TO REMOVE/ REPLACE APPROX. 1,090 (SHOULD BE MAXIMUM OR 40 SQ. FT. APPROXIMATELY) Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering Department for review and recommendation.
