370 REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 17, 1984 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 1984, by President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Michael L. Vance present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. APPROVE MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the minutes of the September 10, 1984, regular meeting of the Board were approved. OPENING AND AWARD OF BID - CLEANING AND PAINTING OF THE WESTERN/WALNUT VIADUCT PROJECT This was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. 'It was noted that bids for this project were originally requested on August 27, 1984, but since no bids were received at that time, the project was readvertised with the new bid opening date of today. The following bid was opened and publicly read: J.L. MANTA, INC. Bid was signed by Michael Chakos, 7757 South Chicago Avenue Treasurer, and I.M. Fox, Secretary, Chicago, Illinois 60619 Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $23,590.00 As this was the only bid received, and the bid amount submitted was below the Engineer's Estimate for this project, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bid was accepted and the project awarded to J.L. Manta, Inc. OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES This was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed bids for the sale of approximately fourteen (14) abandoned vehicles, ten (10) of which are valued at over $100.00 and all of which have been stored at South Bend Auto Parts, 1802 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient.
