335 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 20, 1984 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, <br />the above Offer to Purchase Real Property in the amount of <br />$10,000.00 from Thomas E. Reed, III for the house at 516 North <br />College Street was approved and executed. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 19-1984 - DISPOSAL OF <br />OBSOLETE VEHICLES (POLICE DEPARTMENT) <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the following Resolution 19-1934 disposing of obsolete <br />vehicles by the Police Department was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 19-1984 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public <br />Works that the following Police Department vehicles are <br />obsolete and deteriorated to the point where repair costs <br />would exceed their value: <br />Police Department - 1977 Mercury (#739) <br />Serial No. 7W35F518092 <br />1978 Pontiac (#690) <br />Serial No. 2Y69A8W121475 <br />1979 Ford (#671) <br />Serial No. 9H27F131907 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits the disposal of <br />personal property no longer needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend that the vehicles listed <br />above are obsolete and not needed by the City of South Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Bureau of Vehicle <br />Maintenance be authorized to dispose of said vehicles and <br />to remove same from the City Vehicle Inventory. <br />Adopted: August 20, 1984 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />REQUEST OF KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TO CONDUCT ANNUAL <br />"MARCH FOR LIFE" OCTOBER 7, 1984, REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Bernard J. O'Reilly, Grand Knight, <br />Knights of Columbus, Santa Maria Council, No. 553, 815 North <br />Michigan Street, P.O. Box 774, South Bend, Indiana, requested <br />permission to conduct the annual "March for Life" on Sunday, <br />October 7, 1984, beginning at 1:30 p.m. The route for the <br />march submitted with the request is as follows: <br />Starting at the Knights of Columbus parking <br />lot, west on Park Lane one block to Main <br />Street; south on Main to Wayne Street; <br />west on Wayne to Taylor Street. The march <br />will terminate at St. Patrick's Church, 309 <br />South Taylor Street. <br />Mr. O'Reilly additionally requested that a police escort be pro- <br />vided during the march. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred <br />to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />
