REGULAR MEETING JULY 30, 1984 1 I OPENING OF BIDS - CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for car washes for City vehicles. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. It was noted that bids for car washes for City vehicles were opened on July 9, 1984, but the two bids submitted were defective and re- bidding at this time was necessary. The following bids were opened and publicly read: DON'S MARATHON & CAR WASH 1836 South. Michigan Street South Bend, Indiana 46613 SERVICES BID: Bid was signed by Donald Zwierzynski, President and Sharon K. Zwierzynski, Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a Certified Check in the amount of $4,00.00 was submitted. Wet Wash Only, 1-100 units per month - $1.60 each Wet Wash Only, 100 or more units per month - $1.45 each HI -SPEED AUTO WASH Bid was signed by Sam Cossman, 609 East LaSalle President and Virginia Cossman,. South Bend, Indiana Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a Certified Check in the amount of $400.00 was submitted. SERVICES BID: Full -Service Car Wash, 0-100 units per month - $3.00 each Full -Service Car Wash, 100 or more units per month $2.75 each Wet Wash only, 1-100 units per month - $2.25 each Wet Wash only, 100 or more units per month - $2.00 each Jeeps - $4.50 each Motorcycles - $3.00 each Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bids were referred to the Police Department for review and recommendation. OPENING OF BIDS - DE-ICING 14ATERIALS FOR STREET DEPARTMENT This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the de-icing materials for the Street Department as follows: 12,000 tons or less of Sodium Chloride (Rock Salt) 5,000 tons or less of Calcium Chloride Sand 5,000 tons or less of Calcium Chloride Slag Sand 100,000 gallons or less or Liquid Calcium Chloride The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: INTERNATIONAL SALT COMPANY Bid was signed by Donald B. Holman, A PART OF AKZONA, INC. Manager, Highway Bidding, Non - Abington Executive Park Collusion Affidavit was in order Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania and a Certified Check in the amount of $27,588.00 was submitted. BID,SUBMITTED: 12,000 tons Bulk Ice Control Rock Salt $22.99/ton = $275,880.00 Bulk rock salt will be treated with an anti -caking agent. We will protect our quoted price on deliveries to and including October 31, 1985.
