REGULAR MEETING
JULY 30 1984
311
Heritage has statistics to indicate that they do provide
substantial coverage, noting that 100% coverage is not
required. Ms. Beck indicated that Indiana Cablevision had
promised the residents of the Ridgedale area that cablevision
service would be provided. She indicated that when Heritage
Cablevision took over the franchise from Indiana Cablevision
they were aware of this promise having been made. Mr. Hill
indicated that Heritage Cablevision is willing to listen to
comments the City may wish to make regarding this matter.
It was noted that on July 11, 1984, Heritage Cablevision installed
cable junction metal boxes in the tree lawn areas of the Ridgedale
area. Residents of the area objected to the location of the
boxes and in response, the City revoked a permit issued to
Heritage Cablevision for the installation of the junction boxes.
Residents asked that the boxes be installed in,the rear of their
yards using the utility easements already available and out of
site. As stated above, it has been determined that Heritage
Cablevision is not considered a utility and therefore cannot
use the rear easements without individual permission from each
property owner. The matter of the continued installation of
cablevision service to the Ridgedale area and appropriate
placement of junction boxes is still pending.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, upon
a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and
carried, the meeting adjourned at 10:27 a.m.
n E.
