<br />Mr. Pippenger advised that the intersection solicitations would
<br />be conducted on August 25, 1984 from 9:00 a.m, to 4:00 p.m.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,.seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for
<br />review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST OF SIMON BROTHERS, INC. TO HAVE ON -STREET PARKING
<br />PRIVILEGES FOR UPCOMING FOOD SHOW - SEPTEMBER 29 & 30, 1984 REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Michael J. Tezich, Sales Manager
<br />Simon Brothers, Inc., 1901 Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />requested on -street parking privileges for their upcoming Food
<br />Show scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 1984 and Sunday,
<br />September 30, 1984. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was
<br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police
<br />Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST OF WXMG "MAGIC WALK" FOR ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH
<br />HOSPITAL TO CONDUCT 6.5 MILE WALK - SEPTEMBER 29, 1984 REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Annemarie Yanko, Volunteer Chair-
<br />person, WXMG "Magic Walk" for St. Jude Children's Research
<br />Hospital, 57320 Alan Road, South Bend, Indiana, advised that
<br />WXMG and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would like to
<br />conduct a WXMG "Magic Walk" at Pinhook Park on Saturday,
<br />September 29, 1984. Registration for the event will begin at
<br />9:00 a.m. with the walk officially beginning at 10:00 a.m.
<br />Ms. Yanko advised that use of the public parks for the 6.5
<br />mile walk has been approved by the Board of Park Commissioners
<br />and the walk will begin at Pinhook Park, proceeding on Riverside
<br />Drive to Keller Park to Leeper Park and back to Pinhook. All of
<br />the proceeds will go to St. Jude's. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request
<br />was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the
<br />Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST OF CITY AWNING OF SOUTH BEND TO ERECT AN ENTRANCE
<br />CANOPY AT TRAVELMORE, 212 WEST COLFAX AVENUE REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Robert L. Hinsch, Sales Manager,
<br />City Awning of South Bend, 1835 South Franklin Street, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to erect an entrance canopy
<br />across the City sidewalk at the office of Travelmore, 212 West
<br />Colfax, South Bend, Indiana. In his letter, Mr. Hinsch provided
<br />a drawing of the entrance canopy and advised that the measure-
<br />ments are as follows: front edge of canopy will be three (3)
<br />feet from edge of existing curb; front legs will be three (3)
<br />feet from curb edge; front and sides of 1" tubular steel frame
<br />will be eight (8) feet four (4) inches from sidewalk and
<br />bottom of cloth valance will be seven (7) feet four (4) inches
<br />from the sidewalk. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,,
<br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was
<br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the
<br />Building Department for review and recommendation.
