290 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 23, 1984 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m, on Monday, July 23, 1984, by President John E. Leszczynski, <br />with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. MichaeLZ. Vance <br />present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. <br />Pfotenhauer. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, a request of the National Association of Letter Carriers <br />to conduct an intersection solicitation was added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, <br />the minutes of the July 16, 1984, regular meeting of the Board <br />were approved <br />OPENING OF BIDS TWYCKENHAM DRIVE, ANGELA BOULEVARD <br />PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT <br />This was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- <br />County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. Bid was signed by Robert L. <br />P.O. Box 1775 McCormick, Superintendent, <br />South Bend, Indiana 46634 Non -Collusion Affidavit was <br />in order and a 5 io Bid Bond <br />was submitted. <br />TOTAL <br />WALSH <br />AMOUNT OF BID: $181,079.40 <br />& KELLY, INC. <br />Bid was signed by Richard D. <br />24358 <br />State Road 23 <br />Vick, Vice -President and D. <br />South <br />Bend, Indiana 46614 <br />Joyce Glass, Assistant Secretary, <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in <br />order and a 5% Bid Bond was <br />submitted. <br />TOTAL <br />AMOUNT OF BID: $183,885.25 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this project involves pavement and <br />scarification work. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Vance and carried, the above bids were referred to the <br />Engineering Department for review and recommendation. <br />AWARD BID - DATA COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />In a letter <br />to the Board, Police Chief <br />Charles <br />T.
