REGULAR MEETING JULY 9,:1984 federal law would supercede. Mr. Brunner stated that the federal legislation pending provides for a five per cent (5%) increase each year. In response, Mr. Hill stated that the matter of approving cablevision rate increases will probably not be within the Board's jurisdiction in the future. It was noted that no written objections to the increase in basic cablevision service were received by the Board of Public Works. There being no one else present wishing to speak either for or against the above.referred to, increase, upon a:motion made by Mr...:Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the public hearing on this matter was closed and the rate increase approved. OPENING OF BID ADDENDUM NO. 1 COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND Pursuant to Board approval of a recommendation from Crowe, Chizek and Company that an Addendum to the original specifications for computer equipment for the City of South Bend be prepared and distributed to the vendors that submitted bids on February 27, 1984, this was the date set for the receiving and opening of said Addendum No. 1 to specifications for said equipment. It was noted that Addendum No. 1 contains detailed specifications related to system intergration capabilities and asks the vendor to supply information as to the ability to meet these specifica- tions and the cost of additional hardware and/or software which may be required. The following vendors submitted additional information as requested in Addendum No. 1 to specifications: 1. COMPUTERLAND 205 East McKinley Mishawaka, Indiana 46545 2. IBM CORPORATION 215 South St. Joseph Street South Bend, Indiana 46601 3. COMPUTER SPECIALISTS 401 North Michigan South Bend, Indiana 4. GENERAL MICRO, INC. 420 West Washington South Bend, Indiana 5. BURROUGHS CORPORATION 1335 Mishawaka Avenue South Bend, Indiana 46615 6. NCR CORPORATION 1920 East McKinley Avenue Mishawaka, Indiana 46545-7296 In response to an inquiry from a representative from Computer Specialists, Mr. Vance advised that it is anticipated that Crowe Chizek and Company will have their review of the informa- tion received today finished by July 20th and a final recommenda- tion by the end of the month of July. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above information received in response to Addendum No. 1 to specifications for computer equipment for the City of South Bend was referred to the City Controller's office and Crowe Chizek and Company for review and recommendation.
