REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 9,:1984 <br />federal law would supercede. Mr. Brunner stated that the <br />federal legislation pending provides for a five per cent <br />(5%) increase each year. In response, Mr. Hill stated that <br />the matter of approving cablevision rate increases will <br />probably not be within the Board's jurisdiction in the future. <br />It was noted that no written objections to the increase in basic <br />cablevision service were received by the Board of Public Works. <br />There being no one else present wishing to speak either for or <br />against the above.referred to, increase, upon a:motion made by <br />Mr...:Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the public <br />hearing on this matter was closed and the rate increase approved. <br />OPENING OF BID ADDENDUM NO. 1 COMPUTER EQUIPMENT <br />FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />Pursuant to Board approval of a recommendation from Crowe, Chizek <br />and Company that an Addendum to the original specifications for <br />computer equipment for the City of South Bend be prepared and <br />distributed to the vendors that submitted bids on February 27, <br />1984, this was the date set for the receiving and opening of <br />said Addendum No. 1 to specifications for said equipment. It <br />was noted that Addendum No. 1 contains detailed specifications <br />related to system intergration capabilities and asks the vendor <br />to supply information as to the ability to meet these specifica- <br />tions and the cost of additional hardware and/or software which <br />may be required. The following vendors submitted additional <br />information as requested in Addendum No. 1 to specifications: <br />1. COMPUTERLAND <br />205 East McKinley <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46545 <br />2. IBM CORPORATION <br />215 South St. Joseph Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />3. COMPUTER SPECIALISTS <br />401 North Michigan <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />4. GENERAL MICRO, INC. <br />420 West Washington <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />5. BURROUGHS CORPORATION <br />1335 Mishawaka Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana 46615 <br />6. NCR CORPORATION <br />1920 East McKinley Avenue <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46545-7296 <br />In response to an inquiry from a representative from Computer <br />Specialists, Mr. Vance advised that it is anticipated that <br />Crowe Chizek and Company will have their review of the informa- <br />tion received today finished by July 20th and a final recommenda- <br />tion by the end of the month of July. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above information received in response to Addendum <br />No. 1 to specifications for computer equipment for the City of <br />South Bend was referred to the City Controller's office and <br />Crowe Chizek and Company for review and recommendation. <br />
