253 <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 18, 1984 <br />advised that pursuant to Lease Agreement conditions, Edmarde's, <br />Inc. at this time is exercising their option to extend the <br />original lease for an additional term of three (3) years. <br />beginning on July 1, 1984 and expiring on June 31, 1987. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above Addendum was approved and executed. <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION FROM CROWE-CHIZEK & COMPANY CONCERNING <br />BIDS FOR COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />City Controller Michael L. Vance advised the Board that in recent <br />discussions with the South Bend Community School Corporation, the <br />SBCSC has indicated that they wish to discontinue performing <br />financial data processing services to the City of South Bend <br />within one or two years. Based on that information, Mr. Vance <br />has asked Crowe Chizek's advice on how this will affect the <br />bids they are evaluating for computer equipment for the City <br />opened on February 27, 1984. In response to Mr. Vance's request <br />Crowe Chizek & Company recommends that an addendum to the <br />original specifications be prepared and distributed to the <br />vendors that submitted bids -on February 27, 1984. Mr. Vance <br />indicated that the addendum would contain detailed specifications <br />related to system integration capabilities and would ask the <br />vendor to supply information as to the ability to meet these <br />specifications and the cost of additional hardware and/or <br />software which may be required. Mr. Vance made a motion that <br />the Board grant him permission to work together with Crowe <br />Chizek in formulating an Addendum that would be sent out to <br />the vendors that submitted bids on February 27, 1984 with <br />that Addendum to be returned to the Board and referred to <br />Crowe Chizek for evaluation. Mr. Hill seconded the motion and <br />it carried. <br />APPROVE DEPARTMENT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT CLEAN-UP CREW CHARGES <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Katherine Barnard,. Director, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, advised that in accordance <br />with Section 16-57 of the South Bend Municipal Code, the <br />Board of Public Works has designated to the Department of <br />Code Enforcement the authority to abate nuisances, keep an <br />accurate record of the costs and bill the property owner of <br />record. She further advised that recently the Department of. <br />Code Enforcement has reviewed the costs for the Code Enforce- <br />ment Clean-up Crew to clean private property and because of <br />increased costs of equipment, maintenance of equipment and <br />personnel, the Department has found it necessary to revise <br />the charges for the clean up of properties. Previously, <br />the minimum charge for the work performed by the Clean-up <br />crew was $33.00 for the mowing of lots and $44.00 for the <br />clean-up of properties. The minimum charge now will be <br />$57.00 per job. Additionally, effective June 18, 1984, it <br />is recommended that the costs for the Code Enforcement Clean - <br />Up Crew to clean private properties be as follows: <br />Labor $14.00/person/hour <br />Equipment 28.00/hour <br />Dumping fee 15.00/full load <br />Administrative fee 15.00/per job <br />The average cost for the clean up of a lot will be as follows: <br />Two (2) persons for one (1) hour $28.00 <br />One (1) truck for one (1) hour 28.00 <br />Dumping fee 15.00 <br />Administrative fee per job 15.00 <br />6.00 <br />
