_.- <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 4,. 1984 <br />AWARD BID - RECONDITIONING OF ONE (1) 1971 WARD <br />LA FRANCE PUMPER APPARATUS (FIRE DEPARTMENT) <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Timothy J. Brassell, <br />indicated that after reviewing all bids submitted for the <br />reconditioning of one Ward LaFrance Pumper, it is his recom- <br />mendation.that the Board accept the bid of Fessco.Fire and <br />Safety Equipment, Inc., 1441 South llth Street, Niles, Michigan,` <br />in the amount of $28,650.00.. Chief Brassell further indicated <br />that Fessco presented the low bid for the reconditioning of this <br />apparatus and met the specifications with no exceptions. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />Chief Brassell's recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded. <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION REGARDING PROPOSALS RECEIVED FOR GROUP <br />HEALTH INSURANCE FOR THE ST. JOSEPH COUNTY JOB TRAINING PROGRAM <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Elroy J. Kelzenberg, Executive <br />Director, St. Joseph County Job Training Program, 317 West <br />Washington Street, South Bend, Indiana, indicated that JTP has <br />reviewed all the group health insurance proposals received by <br />the Board on April 30, 1984 and at this time recommends that no <br />award be made. Mr. Kelzenberg stated that after reviewing these <br />proposals and the current plan in terms of costs and benefits, <br />it has been determined that the present coverage more adequately <br />fulfills the medical insurance requirements at this time. <br />Therefore, it was decided to retain the present coverage at <br />least until March of 1985. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, Mr. Kelzenberg's recommendation <br />that no award be made was accepted and approved. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 14-1984 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE <br />EQUIPMENT (DEPARTMENT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Department of Code Enforcement <br />has requested permission to declare obsolete and dispose of <br />miscellaneous equipment that is broken and no longer needed by <br />the Department. Upon a.motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the following Resolution No. 14-1984 <br />was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14-1984 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of <br />Public Works of the City of South Bend that the following <br />equipment is no longer needed by the Department of Code <br />Enforcement of the City of South Bend: <br />Eight (8) Lawn -boy Lawnmowers <br />Three (3) Polaroid Cameras <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits the disposal <br />of personal property no longer needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of <br />Public Works of the City of South Bend, that the above <br />equipment is no longer needed by the City of South Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Code <br />Enforcement of the City of South Bend be authorized to <br />dispose of said equipment and remove same from the City <br />Inventory. <br />DATED this 4th day of June, 1984. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E.
