h 7 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 7, 1984 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m, on Monday, May 7; 1984, by President John E. Leszczynski, <br />with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Michael L. Vance <br />present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. <br />Pfotenhauer. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, <br />the minutes of the April 30, 1984, regular meeting of the Board <br />were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - RECONDITIONING OF ONE (1) 1971 WARD <br />LA FRANCE PUMPER APPARATUS (FIRE DEPARTMENT) <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the reconditioning of one (1) 1971 Ward LaFrance pumper <br />apparatus. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were <br />found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and <br />publicly read: <br />FESSCO FIRE & SAFETY EQUIP., INC. <br />1441 South Eleventh Street <br />P.O. Box 606 <br />Niles, Michigan 49120 <br />TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: 528,650.00 <br />Bid was signed by T.W. Spenner, <br />Fessco Fire & Safety .Equipment, <br />Niles, Michigan for 3-D Fire <br />Apparatus, Bonduel, Wisconsin, <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in <br />order and a Certified Check in <br />the amount of $2,900.00 was <br />submitted. <br />MIDWEST FIRE AND SAFETY Bid was signed by Thomas Frederick, <br />EQUIPMENT COMPANY, INC. Non -Collusion Affidavit was in <br />1605 Prospect Street order and a 10% Bid Bond was. <br />Indianapolis, Indiana 46203 submitted. <br />TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $46,200.00 with options as follows: <br />Recessed air pack brackets <br />Pierce Arrow cab in place of repairs <br />on the Ward LaFrance cab <br />Re -label pump panel <br />Use existing tank gauge in place of <br />new M C gauge <br />Lap doors in place of flush doors <br />Whelen strobes at rear in place <br />of Responders <br />Replace lower floors of transverse <br />compartment, both sides and door on <br />passenger side <br />$ 280.00 <br />14,440.00 <br />316.00 <br />-210.00 <br />-1,035.00 <br />148.00 <br />381.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the Fire Department <br />for review and recommendation. <br />1 <br />0 <br />
