<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS -
<br />SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES
<br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director of the Department of Code Enforcement,
<br />requestedpermission to advertise for the sale of approximately
<br />ten (10) abandoned vehicles', six (6) of which are valued at over
<br />One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) and all of which are being stored
<br />at South Bend Auto Parts, 1802 South Main Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more
<br />than the thirty (30) days, identification checks had. been run for
<br />auto theft,and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the
<br />request was approved and a date of May 7, 1984, was established
<br />for the receiving of sealed bids.
<br />APPROVE DISTRICT ENGINEER'S REPORT OF INSPECTION AND RECOMMENDATION
<br />FOR ACCEPTANCE - SIGNALIZATTON OF SEVEN INTERSECTIONS
<br />Mr. Leszczynski presented to the Board for approval a District
<br />Engineer's Report of Inspection and Recommendation for Acceptance
<br />concerning the signalization of seven intersections (Indiana.State
<br />Department of Highways) Project. The report indicated that final
<br />inspections have been made by the Indiana Department of Highways,
<br />Trans TechElectricCompany, Inc., the contractor in this project
<br />and the City of South Bend Engineering Department and all work
<br />was found to be satisfactory. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the report and recommendation
<br />was approved.
<br />APPROVE IRREVOCABLE STAND-BY LETTER OF CREDIT NO. 492
<br />AND PLAT OF DEDICAT'ION'KENSINGTON FARMS EAST
<br />Mr. Leszczynski presented to the Board Irrevocable Stand-by Letter
<br />of Credit No. 492 drawn on lst Source Bank., South Bend, Indiana,
<br />for the account Jack Hickey Associates, Inc., 60735 U.S. 31 South,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, up to an aggregate amount of Twenty Thousand
<br />Dollars ($20,000.00) available by drafts when accompanied by a
<br />statement that work has not been completed relative to finishing
<br />of streets in Section 3, Kensington Farms East. Drafts under
<br />and in compliance with the terms of this credit shall be duly
<br />honored by lst Source Bank on or prior to April 16, 1985.
<br />Additionally submitted to the Board was a Plat of Dedication,
<br />Kensington Farms East P.U.D., Bayswater Place and Farnsworth
<br />Drive in the southeast quarter of Section 31, Township 37 North,
<br />Range 3 East, City of South Bend, Centre Township, St. Joseph
<br />County Indiana for Jack Hickey Associates, Inc., 60735 U.S. 31
<br />South, South Bend, Indiana. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above referred to Letter of
<br />Credit was filed and the Plat of Dedication was accepted and
<br />approved.
<br />REQUEST OF INDIANA HEALTH CENTERS, INC.'TO CLOSE
<br />STREET FOR OPEN HOUSE AUGUST 19', 19'84 REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Benito Salazar, Clinic Manager, Indiana
<br />Health Centers, Inc., 404 South Walnut Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />requested that Walnut Street from Western Avenue south to Huron
<br />Street be closed on August 19, 1984 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
<br />for a "Year of the Migrant Child" celebration and Open House.
<br />Ms. Salazar indicated that the celebration will be held in the
<br />clinic parking lot at 404 South Walnut Street. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the
<br />above request was referred to the Police Department Traffic
<br />Division and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review
<br />and recommendation.
