<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS
<br />SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES
<br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director of the Department of Code Enforce-
<br />ment requested permission .to advertise for the sale of approximately
<br />five (5) abandoned vehicles, four (4) of which are valued at over
<br />One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) and.all of _which are being stored
<br />at South.Bend Auto Parts, 1802 South Main Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more
<br />than the thirty (30) days, identification checks had been run
<br />for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried,
<br />the request was approved and a date of April 16,-1984 was
<br />established for the receiving of sealed bids.
<br />REQUEST OF CHET WAGGONER LITTLE LEAGUE TO CONDUCT
<br />PARADE - MAY 19, 1984 REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Daniel C. Dutrieux, Parade Chairman,
<br />Chet Waggoner Little League, P.O. Box 3744, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />indicated that the little league is in the process of planning
<br />their "Opening Day" ceremonies to begin the 1984 season: at the
<br />Little League Park located at 3301 Riverside Drive and is request-
<br />ing permission to conduct a parade on Saturday, May 19, 1984 at
<br />8:00 a.m. The parade route is as follows: begin in the 100 block
<br />of West Park Street (just north of the Leeper Park duck pond),
<br />west to Lafayette Boulevard, south of Lafayette to Navarre Street,
<br />west on Navarre to Portage Avenue, north on Portage to Cleveland
<br />Road, east on Cleveland Road to Riverside Drive, south on Riverside
<br />Drive to the park entrance. Also requested is a police escort as
<br />a safety precaution for the motorists and pedestrians along the
<br />parade route as well as for those.participating in the parade.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for.
<br />review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST OF GREATER ST. JOHN MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH TO HAVE
<br />ADAMS STREET CLOSED FOR ETHNIC FESTIVAL - JULY 21, 1984 REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Rev. Billy Kirk, Pastor and Mr. Charles
<br />E. Stafford, Chairman, Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church,
<br />101 Adams Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the 100
<br />block of Adams Street be closed for an Ethnic Festival on July
<br />21, 1984 from 10:00 a.m, to 6:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request
<br />was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police
<br />Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following renewal license
<br />application has been received:

<br />BY: Robert DeGra£f
<br />ADDRESS: 3503 Brookhurst Dr., South Bend, IN
<br />STAND TO BE LOCATED AT: On Riverbend Plaza
<br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING Hot dogs, pretzels,
<br />miscellanous food items
<br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations
<br />have been received from the Department of Code Enforcement, Fire
<br />Department and Health Department for the above application.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hall and
<br />carried, the application was approved and referred to the Deputy
<br />Controller's office for issuance.
