<br />ARCO ENGINEERING CONSTR. CORP. Bid was signed by Jack Riegsecker,
<br />705 South Beiger Vice -President and Jerry Rendall,
<br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46544 Secretary, Non. -Collusion Affidavit
<br />was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was
<br />submitted.
<br />TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $140,839.00
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering Department
<br />for review and recommendation.
<br />AWARD BID - TWO (2) SINGLE AXLE DUMP TRUCKS
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Sean Watt, Director, Division of
<br />Transportation, indicated that he has reviewed the bids received
<br />on March 12, 1984 for two (2) single axle dump trucks and recom-
<br />mends that the bid of Western International Trucks, Inc., 4849 W.
<br />Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, for two (2) dump trucks in
<br />the amount of $51,760.00 be awarded. He further indicated that
<br />the bid of Shamrock Ford is not being recommended since they did
<br />not meet the minimum 155 h.p. engine rating in the base bid. Upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried,
<br />the above recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded.
<br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) HOT/COLD PAINT STRIPER, SELF PROPELLED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Leszczynski indicated that after a careful
<br />review of the bids received on March 5, 1984 for one hot/cold paint
<br />striper, it is the recommendation of the Bureau of Traffic and
<br />Lighting that the bid be awarded to Reid -Holcomb Company, Inc.,
<br />3333 W. Coliseum Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana, for a Unimasco
<br />Model -Imperial 10,000 with options of twin 60-gallon paint tanks,
<br />outrigger, complete, cone platform, engine and drive train to
<br />obtain 25 MPH travel speed and hot/cold hand gun package for a
<br />total price of $32,767.33. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above recommendation was
<br />accepted and the bid awarded.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION
<br />AFFIDAVIT - SOBENITE SANITARY SEWER PROJECT
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Dye Plumbing and Heating, Inc. has
<br />submitted Change Order No. 1 (Final) indicating that the contract
<br />amount be decreased by $138.62 for a new contract sum including
<br />this Change Order in the amount of $8,215.35. Additionally
<br />submitted was the Project Completion Affidavit indicating this
<br />new final cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Hill and carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the
<br />Project Completion Affidavit were approved subject to the filing
<br />of the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond.
<br />APPROVE STORM WATER EASEMENTS
<br />Mr. Leszczynski presented to the Board two (2) Storm Drainage
<br />Easements from the North Central Indiana Development Partnership
<br />to the City of South Bend. The first Easement is a permanent
<br />easement for the purpose of entering upon certain described land
<br />in order to establish and maintain a basin for the retention of
<br />surface water drainage over and upon the real estate. The
<br />second Easement is an easement granting to the City the right
<br />to enter upon certain described land and grade, level, fill,
<br />maintain and repair storm water retention facilities embraced
<br />within the easement as may be reasonably necessary for storm
<br />sewer purposes. Mr. Leszczynski advised that these easements
<br />are needed for the development of Landmark Business Park. Upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the above Easements were accepted and approved.
