<br />The letter indicated that as last year, they expect to have the
<br />assistance of civil defense and volunteers to monitor the walkers
<br />and assist them if they are in need. Additionally, they anticipate
<br />at least six (6) official rest -stops at local churches.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and.
<br />carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for
<br />review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND CLOWN, MIME, PUPPET AND DANCE
<br />MINISTRY TO CONDUCT PARADE - AUGUST 3, 1984 REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. William R. Cauffman, 815 West
<br />Douglas Road, Lot #91, on behalf of the South Bend Clown, Mime,
<br />Puppet and Dance Ministry, requested permission to sponsor a
<br />parade on August 3, 1984 beginning at 7:00 p.m. The route
<br />requested.is the same as used for the 1983 Holiday Parade. Mr.
<br />Cauffman indicated that the parade will be the conclusion of a
<br />week-long seminar held at St. Mary's College on clown, mime,
<br />puppet and dance. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred to the
<br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting andthePolice Department Traffic
<br />Division for review and recommendation.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - PUBLIC PARKING FACILITY
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the license application of Cathedral Church of St. James,
<br />117 North St. James Ct., South Bend, Indiana, was approved and
<br />referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance. The
<br />required Proof of Insurance as well as the hours and rates to be
<br />charged were attached to the application.
<br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and
<br />carried, the following nine (9) handicapped parking permit
<br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's
<br />office for issuance of permits:

<br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT
<br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a
<br />total of forty-seven (47) properties cleaned from February 13,
<br />1984 to February 17, 1984 was submitted.. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the
<br />report was filed.
