102 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 13, 1984 <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Elroy J..Kelzenberg, Executive Director, St. Joseph County Job <br />Training Program, submitted two lists, one from the Michiana Area <br />CETA Consortium containing twenty (20) claims and one from the St. <br />Joseph County Job Training Program containing seventy-six (76). <br />claims and recommended approval. Additionally, Chief Deputy <br />Controller Sherrie L. Petz submitted Claim Docket No. 2278 through <br />No. 2924 and recommended approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the claims were approved and the <br />above reports were filed. <br />AUTHORIZATION GIVEN TO BOARD PRESIDENT JOHN E. LESZCZYNSKI TO <br />CORRESPOND WITH THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT.CONCERNING THE <br />DEPLORABLE CONDITION OF SEVERAL STATE HIGHWAYS RUNNING THROUGH THE CITY <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that his office has received <br />numerous complaints regarding the deplorable condition of several <br />state highways running through the City, particularly Western Avenue, <br />Lincolnway West from the 800 block to downtown, Michigan Street and <br />Main Street. Mr. Leszczynski advised that he has had conversations <br />with the State concerning the condition of the above referred to <br />streets but no action has been taken. Mr. Leszczynski further <br />advised that in order to maintain safe driving conditions on said <br />streets, the City of South Bend has made minor repairs to correct <br />dangerous areas. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, Mr. Leszczynski was given authorization to <br />correspond with the State of Indiana either through the State Highway <br />Department or Director of Highways to strongly request that repairs <br />be made immediately to the above state highways. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, <br />the meeting was adjourned at 9:48 a.m. <br />ichard L.
