<br />storm drainage facilities, curbs, streets and other necessary
<br />incidental construction to Section One Landmark Business Park. .
<br />The Engineer's Estimate for this project indicates a total project
<br />cost of $194,134.00. Mr. Leszczynski advised that these projects
<br />are in response to a petition for construction of sanitary sewers,
<br />street and street improvements at Brick Road and U.S. 31 presented
<br />to the Board on December 5, 1983 by Mr. James P. Conboy, Jr, and
<br />Mr. David L. Mathews to enhance the site being considered for
<br />construction of a data processing facility by Clark Equipment
<br />Company. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill
<br />and carried, the above documents were filed.and a public hearing
<br />date of February 27, 1984 was set.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 4 - SIGNALIZATION OF SEVEN
<br />INTERSECTIONS (INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS)
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Change Order No. 4 in an increased
<br />contract amount of $3,906.25 was being presented by the Contractor,
<br />Trans Tech Electric, Inc. on the above referred to project. Change
<br />Order No. 4 indicates that the increased cost is for several additional
<br />items. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the above Change Order was approved.
<br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY REFERRED (802 KALEY ,STREET)
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Willis K. Hamilton, 1364 East Corby
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana; indicated that he is interested in
<br />purchasing the City -owned property at 802 Kaley Street for the
<br />purpose of building a two -bedroom house in 1984. Upon a.motion
<br />made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the
<br />above request was referred to the necessary City departments and
<br />bureaus for a determination as to whether or not the City need retain
<br />the lot for any reason.
<br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT BROADWAY CHRISTIAN PARISH AND YMCA
<br />FIFTH ANNUAL "HUMAN RACE" REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Larry Neiswender, Race Director, 802
<br />East Indiana Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission for
<br />Broadway Christian Parish and the South Bend YMCA's fifth annual
<br />running of the "Human Race" to be run on Saturday, June 23, 1984.
<br />Mr. Neiswender indicated that the run will begin at the corner of
<br />Broadway and Carroll Streets, proceeding west on Broadway to Franklin
<br />Street, south on Franklin to Ewing, west on Ewing to Gertrude, south
<br />on Gertrude to Chippewa, east on Chippewa to Main, north on Main to
<br />Ewing and west on Ewing to Rum Village Park where the race will end.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and
<br />carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review
<br />and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST TO HAVE CENTER LINES OF MICHIGAN STREET PAINTED GREEN
<br />FOR ST. PATRICK'S DAY (MARCH 17, 1984) REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Drew Leach, Vice -President of Vangarde
<br />Advertising, Inc., 130 South Taylor at Jefferson Boulevard, South
<br />Bend, Indiana on behalf of his client, Senor Kelly's and the.
<br />downtown businessmen, requested that the center lines of Michigan
<br />Street from Colfax to Washington Street be painted green for St.
<br />Patrick's Day, March 17, 1984. Mr. Leach indicated that C.E.
<br />Lee paint store would provide a latex base green paint. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and
<br />carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting, the Police Department Traffic Division and the City
<br />Attorney's office for review and recommendation.
