It was noted that bids for these.
services were opened on January 23, 1984.
Ms. Barnard was present at the meeting and informed the Board that
in reviewing the bids for the towing and storage of abandoned
vehicles it was determined that a package for the towing and
storage of abandoned vehicles with one company would be most
beneficial and cost effective for the City. She presented to the
Board at this time contracts with South Bend Auto Parts for vehicle
storage and vehicle towing. The storage contract indicated that the
City shall pay South Bend Auto Parts the sum of two dollars ($2.00)
per day per vehicle but shall not exceed four thousand four hundred
dollars ($4,400.00) per year for the storage of abandoned vehicles.
The vehicle towing contract indicated that the City shall pay to
South Bend Auto Parts thirty dollars ($30.00) per vehicle for
regular towing, thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per vehicle for
rollover towing, and seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) per
call for calls to locations where cars have been previously
removed and no towing is required.
Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and
carried, the above bid was awarded and the appropriate contracts
were approved and executed.
APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS
The following five (5) Community Development contracts were presented
to the Board for approval:
HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
HISTORIC PRESERVATION ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT ACTIVITY
The goal of this project is to enable the Historic Preservation
Commission to expand its activities throughout the City.
