Parmerlee, Clerk <br />Resolution No. 2-1984 recommends that a s,crap and junk dealers. <br />license for A-1 Auto Parts, 2014 Lafayette Boulevard, South <br />Bend, be approved for renewal for 1984. Mr. Leszczynski <br />advised that favorable recommendations have been received <br />from the Department of Code Enforcement and the Fire Depart- <br />ment Prevention Bureau. It was noted that A-1 Auto Parts was <br />not included in Resolution No. 27-1983 or Resolution No. 1-1984 <br />previously adopted by the Board because they did not fully <br />comply with Fire Code regulations at that time. However, <br />recent inspections conducted by the Fire Department Prevention <br />Bureau indicate that A-1 Auto Parts is now in compliance with <br />ordinance requirements. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, Resolution No. 2-1984 recom- <br />mending Council approval for the license renewal for A-1 Auto <br />Parts was adopted and the Clerk was instructed to prepare the <br />necessary Council Resolution for final action by the Common <br />Council. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director of the Department of Code <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale <br />of approximately twelve (12) abandoned vehicles, ten (10) <br />of which are valued at over One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) <br />and all of which are being stored at Hurwich Impoundment <br />Lot, 1610 Circle Avenue. It was noted that all vehicles <br />have been stored more than the thirty (30) days, identification <br />checks had been run for auto theft, and the owners and lien - <br />holders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved <br />and a date of February 6, 1984 was established for the <br />receiving of sealed bids. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following three (3) Rubbish <br />and Garbage license applications have been received: <br />Sylvester Mullins <br />115 South Cherry Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Oscar Cobb <br />1221 Campeau <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Industrial Plant Service, Inc. <br />2425 Western Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />By: James E. Hurwich, President <br />It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used had <br />been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and all applicants <br />were found to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above <br />license applications were approved and referred to the <br />Deputy Controller's office for issuance. <br />
