60 <br />REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 3, 1984 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1-1984 <br />WHEREAS, license renewal applications for scrap and junk <br />dealers for the year 1984 have been received by the Board <br />of Public Works; and <br />WHEREAS, inspections of the properties have been com- <br />pleted by the Department of Code Enforcement and the Fire <br />Prevention Bureau as required by Chapter 4, Article 4, <br />Section 4-51 of the Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Code Enforcement and the <br />Fire Prevention Bureau have found that such premises are <br />fit and proper for the maintenance and operation of such <br />a business;. and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 4, Article 4, Section 4-51 of the <br />Municipal Code requires approval of a Resolution of the <br />Board of Public Works recommending the renewal of the <br />license applications. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the license <br />renewal applications for the following scrap and junk <br />dealers be recommended favorably based upon the satisfactory <br />review of the properties by the Department of Code Enforce- <br />ment and the Fire Prevention Bureau: <br />Super Auto Salvage Co., Inc. 3300 S. Main St. <br />STC Recycling, Inc. 445 N. Kernan <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO HAVE CURB PAINTED BLUE FOR HANDICAPPED PERSON <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of Mr. <br />Harold Johnson, 723 Pierce Street, South Bend, Indiana, presented <br />to the Board on December 19, 1983 and recommends approval. It <br />was noted that Mr. Johnson asked that the curb in front of his <br />house be designated as a handicapped parking space because of <br />the arthritic condition of his wife. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was <br />approved and the appropriate request for approval of Traffic <br />Control Device was approved and executed. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was approved: <br />REVISE SNOW ROUTE ( FOR CLARIFICATION OF RECORD) - <br />400-600 South Lake Street (Western to Ford) <br />1 <br />G <br />
