<br />REQUEST OF KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
<br />JANUARY 22, 1984, REFERRED
<br />TO CONDUCT "MARCH FOR LIFE" -
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Bernard J. O'Reilly, G.K.
<br />Parade Chairman, Knights of Columbus, Santa Maria Council
<br />No. 553, 815 North Michigan'Street, P.O. Box 774, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to hold their annual
<br />"March for Life" on Sunday, Janaury 22, 1984 at 1:30 p.m.
<br />The route of this march is as follows: starting at the
<br />Knights of Columbus parking lot, west on Park Lane, one -
<br />block to Main Street, South on Main Street to Wayne Street,
<br />west on Wayne Street to.Taylor Street and terminating at
<br />St. Patrick's Church, 309 South Taylor, South Bend, Indiana.
<br />Additionally requested was a police escort during the march.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill
<br />and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of
<br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and
<br />recommendation.
<br />APPROVE LETTER OF CREDIT - JACK HICKEY ASSOCIATES, INC..
<br />Mr. Leszczynski presented to the Board a letter from Mr. R.H.
<br />Simonds, Vice -President of lst Source Bank, P.O. Box 1602,
<br />South Bend, regarding Lot 25 Kensington Farms 4th Addition.
<br />The letter indicated that 1st Source Bank has the funds
<br />available for Jack Hickey Associates, Inc., in the amount of
<br />$2,000.00, to complete the street. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above
<br />Letter of Credit was approved and filed.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR. STAND
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following license application
<br />has been received:
<br />Name: Ford's Dairy Queen, Inc.
<br />By: James Frick
<br />Address: 4538 South Main Street
<br />Stand to be located at: 4531 South Michigan Street
<br />Dates: December 1 thru December 25, 1983
<br />For the Purpose of: Selling Christmas trees
<br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations
<br />have been received from the Police Department, Department of
<br />Code Enforcement and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for
<br />the above application. It was noted that Mr. Frick is the
<br />owner of the property on which the stand is to be located.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill
<br />and carried, the above license application was approved and
<br />referred to the Deputy Controller's for issuance.
<br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr.. Kernan
<br />and carried, the following twenty-five (25) handicapped parking
<br />permit applications were approved and referred to the Deputy
<br />Controller's office for issuance of permits:.
