05 , <br />REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 10, 1985 <br />OPENING OF BIDS - JANITORIAL SERVICES, INCLUDING PEST AND RODENT <br />CONTROL AT POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THREE (3) SUBSTATIONS AND <br />APPROVE THE READVERTISEMENT OF PEST AND RODENT CONTROL SERVICES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to services. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bid was opened and publicly read: <br />MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS CORPORATION BID: $15,480.00 for <br />P.O. Box 6125 janitorial services <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid was signed by Richard W. Johnson, President and Hedi <br />Johnson, Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and <br />a Certified Check in the amount of $850.00 was submitted. <br />Board Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer advised that the bid <br />submitted by Absolute Pest & Termite Control, Inc., 2228 <br />Lincolnway West, Mishawaka, Indiana was defective in that it was <br />not signed and therefore should be rejected. Upon a motion made <br />by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the bid <br />was rejected. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the bid of Maintenance Systems Corporation was <br />referred to the Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />Further, as Absolute Pest & Termite Control was the only bid <br />submitted for rodent and pest control services and that bid was <br />rejected for non-compliance with bidding requirements, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the Clerk was instructed to re -advertise for the rodent <br />and pest control services for the Police Department main station <br />and three (3) sub -stations. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed <br />bids for the sale of approximately forty-six (46) abandoned <br />vehicles, all of which have been stored at Steve and Gene's Auto <br />& Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 South Gertrude Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which <br />were found to be sufficient.
