9 cl r'l e 'L REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 23, 1985 reviewed this request and recommend approval subject to the participants walking on the sidewalk only and obeying all traffic signals. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST OF PRO HEALTH TO ERECT SPORTSMED 10K BANNER ACROSS JEFFERSON BOULEVARD In a letter to the Board, Mr. Ron Craker, Co -Race Director, Sportsmed 10K Weekend, c/o Pro Health, 320 South St. Joseph Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to erect one (1) Sportsmed 10K banner across Jefferson Boulevard in conjunction with the upcoming Sportsmed 10K Weekend. The banner will be put up on October 4, 1985 and removed on October 6, 1985. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed this request and recommend approval. It was noted that if the banner is to be fastened on street light poles, permission must be secured from Indiana and Michigan Electric Company to do so. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the following eleven (11) traffic control devices were approved: 1. REMOVAL OF NO TURN ON RED - Hill & Jefferson (south bound). 2. REMOVAL OF NO TURN ON RED - Western & Williams (South bound, east bound). 3. REMOVAL OF NO TURN ON RED - Western & Taylor (North bound, south bound). 4. REMOVAL OF NO TURN ON RED - Indiana & Miami (East bound, west bound). 5. REMOVAL OF NO TURN ON RED - Ireland & St. Joseph (North bound, south bound, east bound). 6. REMOVAL OF NO TURN ON RED - Miami & Scottsdale (west bound). 7. REMOVAL OF NO TURN ON RED - Jefferson & St. Joseph (east bound, west bound). 8. REMOVAL OF NO TURN ON RED - St. Joseph & Wayne (west bound). 9. REMOVAL OF NO TURN ON RED - Lafayette & Western (north bound). 10. NEW INSTALLATION OF 15-MINUTE PARKING - 913 1/2 L.W.W. (New Business). 11. NEW INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGN - On Avondale & Twyckenham (Uncontrolled "T"). APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BONDS Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the Contractor's Bond for A.C. Rich & Company be approved retroactive to September 18, 1985 and the Contractor's Bond of Joe Angle B. Flores be approved retroactive to September 17, 1985. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above Contractors Bonds were approved.
