REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 26, 1985 1. APPLICANT: Abe's Free Flow EFFECTIVE: August 26, 1985 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendations were accepted and the bonds of Small, Inc., and Mathew Ivy, Jr., were approved and the bond of Abe's Free Flow was released. APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the following two (2) handicapped parking permit applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of permits: Clem C. Paczkowski, 2116 S. Kendall, S.B. Clara L. Funston, 2019 S. Taylor, S.B. REQUEST TO HAVE CURB SPACE IN FRONT OF 2116 SOUTH KENDALL STREET DESIGNATED AS A HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Dr. James E. Wack, 530 West Indiana Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, on behalf of his patient Mr. Clem Paczkowski, 2116 South Kendall Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the curb space in front of Mr. Paczkowski's residence be designated as handicapped parking. Dr. Wack advised that Mr. Paczkowski has special transportation from Meridian Health Care -Cardinal to his home every Thursday to spend the afternoon. The neighborhood parking situation and lack of cooperation is such that the special van is unable to park anywhere near his home to transfer him to a wheel chair. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following license application has been received: NAME: KDF IMPORT/EXPORT/RETAIL BY: Keith D. Faulstich ADDRESS: P.O. Box 173, Walkerton, IN STAND TO BE LOCATED AT: 111 East Ireland Road DATES: Every Saturday thru the summer FOR THE PURPOSE OF: Selling general merchandise including jewelry, tools, statutes, T-shirts Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Police Department, Department of Code Enforcement, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the above application. Additionally provided with the application was a letter of permission from the property owner. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above license application was approved subject to the applicant verifying the location of the stand and specifying the exact dates the stand is to be operated. The matter was referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a permit. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was approved: 1. REMOVAL OF 15 MINUTE PARKING - REVISED TO PARKING - 913-913 1/2 Lincolnway West. (Business moved - Archie's Bar-B-Q).
