REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 26, 1985 <br />1. APPLICANT: Abe's Free Flow <br />EFFECTIVE: August 26, 1985 <br />Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the <br />recommendations were accepted and <br />the bonds of <br />Small, Inc., <br />and Mathew Ivy, Jr., were approved <br />and the bond of <br />Abe's Free Flow <br />was released. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED <br />PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, <br />the following two (2) handicapped <br />parking permit <br />applications <br />were approved and referred to the <br />Deputy <br />Controller's <br />office for issuance of permits: <br />Clem C. Paczkowski, 2116 S. Kendall, S.B. <br />Clara L. Funston, 2019 S. Taylor, S.B. <br />REQUEST TO HAVE CURB SPACE IN FRONT OF 2116 SOUTH KENDALL STREET <br />DESIGNATED AS A HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Dr. James E. Wack, 530 West Indiana <br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, on behalf of his patient Mr. Clem <br />Paczkowski, 2116 South Kendall Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requested that the curb space in front of Mr. Paczkowski's <br />residence be designated as handicapped parking. Dr. Wack advised <br />that Mr. Paczkowski has special transportation from Meridian <br />Health Care -Cardinal to his home every Thursday to spend the <br />afternoon. The neighborhood parking situation and lack of <br />cooperation is such that the special van is unable to park <br />anywhere near his home to transfer him to a wheel chair. Upon a <br />motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review <br />and recommendation. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following license application <br />has been received: <br />NAME: KDF IMPORT/EXPORT/RETAIL <br />BY: Keith D. Faulstich <br />ADDRESS: P.O. Box 173, Walkerton, IN <br />STAND TO BE LOCATED AT: 111 East Ireland Road <br />DATES: Every Saturday thru the summer <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF: Selling general merchandise <br />including jewelry, tools, <br />statutes, T-shirts <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations <br />have been received from the Police Department, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the above <br />application. Additionally provided with the application was a <br />letter of permission from the property owner. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the <br />above license application was approved subject to the applicant <br />verifying the location of the stand and specifying the exact <br />dates the stand is to be operated. The matter was referred to <br />the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a permit. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1. REMOVAL OF 15 MINUTE PARKING - REVISED TO PARKING - <br />913-913 1/2 Lincolnway West. (Business moved - <br />Archie's Bar-B-Q). <br />
