REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 19, 1985 <br />1 <br />FILING OF STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT - JULY <br />The report submitted to the Board indicated a total of one <br />hundred thirty-one (131) street light outages reported during the <br />month of July. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Ms. Barnard and carried, the report as submitted was filed. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY REPORT - JULY <br />The Humane Society report for the month of July indicated the <br />following matters handled for the City of South Bend: <br />DOGS HANDLED: 242 <br />CATS HANDLED: 223 <br />OTHER ANIMALS HANDLED: 112 <br />BITE CASES HANDLED: 13 <br />COMPLAINTS HANDLED: 249 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the above report as submitted was accepted and <br />filed. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the Certificate of Insurance for Lykowski <br />Construction, 21707 West Ireland Road, South Bend, Indiana, was <br />accepted and filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Deputy City Controller Carol M. Sanders submitted Claim Docket <br />No. 12401 through Claim Docket No. 18864 and recommended <br />approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. <br />Barnard and carried, the claims were approved and the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />LETTER FROM ATTORNEY JAMES MASTERS CONCERNING SALE OF CITY -OWNED <br />PROPERTY AT S.E. CORNER OF LELAND AND MARION STREET REFERRED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the August 12, 1985, letter from Attorney James A. <br />Masters, Suite 511, National Bank Building, 112 West Jefferson <br />Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, on behalf of his clients John and <br />Linda Jerdon, 520 West Madison Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />concerning the sale of the City -owned property at the S.E. corner <br />of Leland and Marion Streets, in which Mr. Masters states that it <br />is his position that legal publication of the sale of the <br />property was fatally defective, thereby rendering the prior sale <br />void, was referred to the City Attorney's office for review, <br />research and recommendation. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:56 a.m. <br />hn E.
