REGULAR MEETING JUNE 17, 1985 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have provided favorable <br />recommendations on the above requests. Therefore, upon a motion <br />made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the <br />above requests were approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT ETHNIC FESTIVAL PARADE - JULY 6, 1985 <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office <br />of Community Affairs, requested the same street closings, parking <br />bans and support as in.1984 for the 1985 Ethnic Festival Parade to <br />be held on July 6, 1985 from 10:00 to 12:00 noon as follows: <br />The Ethnic Festival Parade marshalling area is Lafayette <br />Street from Sample to Western; Williams Street from <br />South to Western; South Street from Taylor to Main; Monroe <br />Street from Williams to Main. All of the above streets will <br />be closed to normal thru traffic during the parade <br />marshalling. Marshalling will start at approximately 7:00 <br />a.m. with the parade moving out at 9:45 a.m. <br />The parade route shall be Lafayette Boulevard from Western <br />Avenue to Colfax, west on Colfax to Williams, south on <br />Williams to Wayne Street. The above streets will be closed to <br />normal thru traffic during the parade, estimated from 9:45 <br />until 12:00 noon. <br />The area in front of the County -City Building will be reserved <br />for reviewing stand performing arts and television coverage. <br />Additionally, the Parade Committee has requested services from <br />REACT and the RACES for additional traffic and crowd controls. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this request has been reviewed by the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic <br />Division and they recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion <br />made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the <br />above request was approved. <br />APPROVE FINAL ETHNIC FESTIVAL BOOTH APPLICATIONS <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office <br />of Community Affairs submitted the following booth applications <br />for approval: <br />CRAFT BOOTHS <br />1. Dona Alexander <br />2. Florence P. Flutz (Flutz Enterprises) <br />3. Charlotte J. Burket (C & S Crafts) <br />4. Ken Schneider <br />5. Paul L. Cornell <br />FOOD BOOTHS <br />1. Paula Gonzalez (Jr. League of United Latin <br />American Citizens <br />2. Roderick A. Shaw (S.B. Community Industrialization <br />Center, Inc.) <br />3. Paula Gonzalez (St. Stephen's Parish) <br />DISPLAY BOOTHS <br />1. James Louis (Democratic Party) <br />2. Rey & Glenda Rae Hernandez <br />3. Mary Anne Bird (Family Learning Center) <br />Ms. Dobski advised that with the approval of the above booths, the <br />totals are as follows: <br />CRAFT <br />48 <br />FOOD <br />50 <br />DISPLAY <br />14 <br />TOTAL: <br />112 <br />
