<br />Board, Ms. Termer Rae Jones, 161.5 St. St. Joseph Street, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, indicated she was interested in purchasing the
<br />City -owned property at 510 and 514 E. Keasey Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms.
<br />Barnard and carried, the above requests were referred to the
<br />necessary City departments and bureaus for a determination as to
<br />whether or not the City need retain the lots for any reason.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - NEWMAN BUILDING
<br />REMODELING PROJECT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau of
<br />Public Construction, requested permission to advertise for the
<br />receipt of bids for the Newman Building Remodeling Project. Upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and
<br />carried, the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF WEST SIDE MEMORIAL COMMITTEE TO HOLD ANNUAL
<br />MEMORIAL DAY PARADE (MAY 27, 1985)
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, Director,
<br />Division of Engineering and Captain Edward Friend, South Bend
<br />Police Department Traffic Division, have reviewed the request of
<br />the West Side Memorial Committee to hold their annual Memorial Day
<br />Parade, submitted to the Board on May 13, 1985, and recommend
<br />approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr.
<br />Vance and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the
<br />request was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF WSBT RADIO TO CONDUCT "SALUTE TO SUMMER" ON
<br />RIVER BEND PLAZA - JUNE 21, 1985
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, Director,
<br />Division of Engineering and Captain Edward Friend, South Bend
<br />Police Department Traffic Division, have reviewed the request of
<br />WSBT Radio to hold the 2nd Annual "Salute to Summer" Celebration,
<br />submitted to the Board on May 13, 1985, and recommend approval.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance
<br />and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the request
<br />was approved.
<br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BONDS
<br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the
<br />Contractor's Bonds for David Ralph and Portage Construction
<br />Company, Inc. be approved effective May 20, 1985. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the
<br />above Contractor's Bonds were approved.
<br />RELEASE CONTRACTOR'S BOND
<br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the
<br />Contractor's Bond for Edward C. Hermann be released, effective May
<br />20, 1985. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms.
<br />Barnard and carried, the above Contractor's Bond was released.

<br />A report from the Department of Code
<br />Enforcement
<br />indicating a
<br />total of seventy-one (71) properties
<br />cleaned from
<br />May 13, 1985 to
<br />May 17, 1985, was submitted. Upon a
<br />motion made
<br />by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard
<br />and carried,
<br />the report as
<br />submitted was filed.
