<br />request an appraisal from one (1) of five (5) licensed real estate
<br />brokers whom they contact on a rotating basis. The Bureau of
<br />Housing's attorney then prepares an "Offer to Purchase" based on
<br />the appraised value and submits it to the Board for approval. The
<br />seller has the right to make a counter offer to the City. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and
<br />carried, the above report was filed.
<br />REQUEST NO PARKING IN THE 3000 BLOCK OF SOUTH MICHIGAN (REFERRED)
<br />In a letter to the Board Mr. James P. Considine, 1109 Donmoyer,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, requested that the 3000 block of South
<br />Michigan Street be posted "No Parking". Mr. Considine stated he
<br />is concerned about the cars parked on South Michigan Street in
<br />front of the Montgomery Ward building. He advised that the volume
<br />of cars parked in that block on a daily basis has caused some
<br />congestion in accomplishing a right turn off Michigan onto
<br />Donmoyer and has caused a considerable hazard in attempting a
<br />right turn on red off of Donmoyer onto Michigan. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the
<br />above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting
<br />and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and
<br />recommendation.
<br />REQUEST OF ST. ADALBERT PARISH TO CLOSE GRACE STREET FOR CLASS
<br />REUNION AND PARISH FESTIVAL
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Henry Sparazynski, for Rev. Eugene
<br />Kazmierczak, Pastor of St. Adalbert Church, requested permission
<br />to close Grace Street between Olive and Meade on Sunday, July 7,
<br />1985, for a 75th anniversary class reunion for all alumni and
<br />again on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 12, 13 and 14th, 1985
<br />for their annual Parish Festival. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request
<br />was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police
<br />Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST OF HILLTOP SUNRISE COMMITTEE TO CLOSE STREET FOR HILLTOP
<br />SERVICES (JUNE 16, 1985) REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Rev. L. James Perry, Co -Chairman,
<br />Hilltop Sunrise Committee, 139 South Camden Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, requested that Washington Street between Liberty and
<br />Dundee Streets be blocked off on Sunday, June 16, 1985, for
<br />purposes of the church's yearly Hilltop Services in LaSalle Park.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard
<br />and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of
<br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division
<br />for review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY ON DENSLOW DRIVE -
<br />(JULY 4, 1985) REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board Mrs. Ray Geopfrich, 1807 Denslow Drive,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct a
<br />neighborhood block party on Denslow Drive between Inwood and
<br />Sampson on July 4, 1985, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and
<br />carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review
<br />and recommendation.
<br />REQUESTS TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 441 SOUTH PULASKI AND
<br />510 AND 514 EAST KEASEY
