3 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 8, 1985 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of <br />9:32 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 1985,, <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, <br />and Mr. Michael L. Vance present. <br />City Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />Public Works was convened at <br />by President John E. <br />Ms. Katherine G. Barnard <br />Also present was Chief Deputy <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the minutes of the April 1, 1985, regular meeting of the <br />Board were approved. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADDENDA <br />The following Community Development addenda were presented to the <br />Board for approval: <br />ADDENDUM I <br />NEIGHBORHOOD CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICE <br />NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN-UP CREW ACTIVITY <br />Addendum I provides for the addition of $30,000.00 to this <br />activity. Total cost shall not exceed $130,000.00. <br />ADDENDUM I <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />GENERAL STREET IMPROVEMENTS ACTIVITY <br />Addendum I indicates a change in the Program Budget. Total cost <br />of this activity shall not exceed $470,000.00. Each individual <br />project may not exceed the following: <br />1. NHS Public Works - Northeast <br />2. Chapin Street NRD <br />3. Monroe Park Truck Access <br />4. Street Improvements <br />$ 75,000.00 <br />50,000.00 <br />60,000.00 <br />285,000.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the above addenda were approved and executed. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 12-1985 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE VEHICLE <br />(POLICE DEPARTMENT) <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Charles T. Hurley, <br />requested permission to delete Mechanical #731, a 1976 Plymouth <br />Volare from the police fleet inventory. This vehicle has been <br />plagued with various mechanical problems and has become too costly <br />to maintain. The unit will be sold during the police fleet <br />auction later this year. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the following Resolution <br />No. 12-1985 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 12, 1985 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public <br />Works that the following Police Department vehicle is <br />obsolete and deteriorated to the point where repair costs <br />would exceed its value: <br />Police Department - 1976 Plymouth Volare (#731) <br />Serial No. HP29C6B381087 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits the disposal of <br />personal property no longer needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend that the vehicle listed <br />above is obsolete and not needed by the City of South Bend. <br />
