REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 28, 1985 C 1 APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately thirteen (13) abandoned vehicles, nine (9) of which are valued at over $100.00 and all of which are being stored at Steve & Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved and a date of February 11, 1985, was established for the receiving and opening of sealed bids. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - EAST RACE FENCE PROJECT In a letter to the Board, Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, P.E., Director, Division of Engineering, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineer's Estimate for this project is $30,000.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO REJECT BIDS - PLAZA MAINTENANCE FACILITY REMODELING ("OLD" NEWMAN'S BUILDING) Mr. Leszczynski advised that after conferring with the Engineering Department and the Redevelopment Department the bids received on January 21, 1985 and opened by the January 22, 1985, for the above referred to project, it recommendation that the bids be rejected as they exceed projections for this project. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the bids rejected. concerning Board on is their the cost APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following three (3) Rubbish and Garbage license applications have been received: 1. Alex Rowell 1248 South Bend Avenue, S.B. 2. Industrial Plant Service, Inc. 2425 W. Western, S.B. 3. City of South Bend 3113 Riverside Dr., S.B. It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used had been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and all applicants were found to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance. APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following one (1) handicapped parking permit application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a permit: Marion K.
