REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 28, 1985 <br />C <br />1 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, <br />requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately <br />thirteen (13) abandoned vehicles, nine (9) of which are valued at <br />over $100.00 and all of which are being stored at Steve & Gene's <br />Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 South Gertrude Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored <br />more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run <br />for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above request was approved and a date of February 11, 1985, <br />was established for the receiving and opening of sealed bids. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - EAST RACE FENCE <br />PROJECT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, P.E., Director, <br />Division of Engineering, requested that the Board advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. <br />Leszczynski advised that the Engineer's Estimate for this project <br />is $30,000.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO REJECT BIDS - PLAZA MAINTENANCE FACILITY <br />REMODELING ("OLD" NEWMAN'S BUILDING) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that after conferring with the <br />Engineering Department and the Redevelopment Department <br />the bids received on January 21, 1985 and opened by the <br />January 22, 1985, for the above referred to project, it <br />recommendation that the bids be rejected as they exceed <br />projections for this project. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />recommendation was accepted and the bids rejected. <br />concerning <br />Board on <br />is their <br />the cost <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following three (3) Rubbish and <br />Garbage license applications have been received: <br />1. Alex Rowell <br />1248 South Bend Avenue, S.B. <br />2. Industrial Plant Service, Inc. <br />2425 W. Western, S.B. <br />3. City of South Bend <br />3113 Riverside Dr., S.B. <br />It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used had been <br />conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and all applicants were found <br />to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license applications <br />were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for <br />issuance. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following one (1) handicapped parking permit <br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of a permit: <br />Marion K.
