REGULAR MEETING
<br />JANUARY 22, 1985
<br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at
<br />9:39 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 1985, by President John E.
<br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr.
<br />Michael L. Vance present. Also present was Assistant City
<br />Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer.
<br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Vance, and
<br />carried, the minutes of the January 14, 1985, regular meeting of
<br />the Board were approved.
<br />OPENING OF BIDS - PLAZA MAINTENANCE FACILITY REMODELING ("OLD"
<br />NEWMAN'S BUILDING)
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that January 21, 1985, was the date set
<br />for the receiving of sealed bids for the above referred to
<br />project. As City offices were closed on January 21st in
<br />observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday, bids received
<br />were opened this date. Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, P.E., Director,
<br />Division of Engineering, advised that the Engineer's Estimate for
<br />this project is $45,000.00. The Clerk tendered proofs of
<br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County
<br />News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were
<br />opened and publicly read:
