4 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 14, 1985 <br />requested permission to temporarily park, for 6-18 months, a 35-45 <br />foot trailer on the east side of the building to be used for <br />storage purposes until expansion is completed. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Building Department for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE TO CONDUCT SUNBURST MARATHON AND 10K <br />ROAD RACE - JUNE 8, 1985 REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Joyce Fox, Race Director, advised <br />that the South Bend Tribune is requesting permission to hold a <br />Sunburst Marathon and the 10K road race on Saturday, June 8, 1985. <br />The start of both races will be on the campus of Notre Dame <br />University, with the Marathon beginning at 6:00 a.m. and the 10K <br />at 7:00 a.m. Each event will finish in the Notre Dame football <br />stadium and end before 12:00 noon. Submitted with the request <br />were detailed routes to be used for the Sunburst Marathon and the <br />10K road race. The South Bend Tribune and the American Lung <br />Association will provide a staff of highly qualified personnel to <br />organize the Sunburst events; with assistance from the National <br />Guard, the American Red Cross, McGann Ambulance Services and <br />RACES. Additionally, it is anticipated that the Civil Defense and <br />Weatherwatch will assist plus approximately 400 well trained <br />volunteers and a fleet of Tribune trucks for additional <br />assistance. The Tribune sponsors Sunburst as a non-profit event <br />solely for the benefit of the American Lung Association of North <br />Central Indiana. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was referred to the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic <br />Division for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that that <br />Excavation Bond for Home Engineering Co., Inc. be released <br />effective January 14, 1985. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the release of the <br />above referred to Excavation Bond was approved. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following seven (7) Rubbish and <br />Garbage license application have been received: <br />1.
