REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 9, 1986 <br />Temple block on West Madison Street and North Lafayette Boulevard <br />for Holy Day Services as follows: <br />Friday, <br />October <br />3 <br />8:15 p.m. <br />Saturday <br />October <br />4 <br />9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. <br />Sunday <br />October <br />12 <br />8:15 p.m. <br />Monday <br />October <br />13 <br />9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. <br />Additionally, <br />they would <br />like <br />to be supplied with "No Parking" <br />signs. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed this <br />request and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above <br />request was approved. <br />AP <br />UEST OF RILEY HIGH SCHOOL BAND TO CONDUCT MARCH -A - <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />request of the Riley High School Band to conduct a march-a-thon, <br />said request submitted to the Board on September 2, 1986, and <br />recommend approval. It was noted that the Police Department will <br />provide an escort for this event. Therefore, upon a motion made <br />by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUEST - ASHLAND AVENUE <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Peg Luecke, District 8 <br />Representative, Near Northwest Neighborhood Association, on <br />behalf of the residents of Leland Avenue, Ashland Avenue and Rex <br />Street requested permission to close Ashland Avenue, from Leland <br />to Rex on Sunday, September 14, 1986 from 3:00 p.m. to dusk for a <br />block party. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have <br />reviewed this request and recommend approval subject to the <br />maintenance of a ten (10) foot clear and unobstructed lane at <br />either curb or down the center of the street for emergency <br />purposes. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the following three (3) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, RESERVED PARKING TEMPORARY - In front <br />of 305 W. Madison, West & East side of 400 North <br />Lafayette, October 3, 4, 12, 13. (Requested by <br />Temple Beth -El, for Jewish Holydays). <br />2. REMOVAL OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS, REVISED TO ALL WAY - <br />Wayne & Williams, LaFayette & South, Western & <br />Williams. (When construction begins, Requested <br />by Traffic Department). <br />3. REMOVAL OF NO PARKING, REVISED TO 2 HANDICAP TOW <br />ZONE - 402 S. Williams, 44' zone.
