REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 2, 1986 <br />RELOCATION OF SOUTH MICHIGAN STREET VENDORS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in light of the pending construction <br />on South Michigan Street, the Board would like to go on record by <br />stating that efforts will be made to relocate and keep downtown <br />the food vendors which are currently located on South Michigan <br />Street. He stated that the City will do what it can to keep the <br />vendors downtown and will attempt to keep them within the scheme <br />of the downtown renovation. <br />As a point of clarification, Mr. Vance advised that the two (2) <br />food vendors currently located on South Michigan Street are the <br />Pretzel Palace and Cambodia's Egg Rolls. He further advised that <br />as construction work begins on those blocks of South Michigan <br />Street, the vendors will be removed from the construction area <br />and the City will work with them in trying to find them a <br />temporary location in the downtown area. He further stated that <br />is anticipated that the vendors will remain in the downtown <br />area. Mr. Leszczynski stated that this move will give the City <br />an opportunity to develop rules and regulations regarding the <br />operation of vendors in the downtown area. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the following three (3) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, 30 MINUTE PARKING - 1200-1300 W. <br />Washington. <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION, NO PARKING - 3600-3700-3800 Ardmore <br />Trail. (Requested by residents by petition). <br />3. NEW INSTALLATION, HANDICAP PARKING TOW -AWAY -ZONE - <br />1200 W. Washington, lst space east of Walnut, <br />on south side and north side. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of one hundred forty-seven (147) properties cleaned from <br />August 22, 1986 to August 27, 1986, was submitted. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />report as submitted was filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Deputy City Controller Carol M. Sanders submitted Claim Docket <br />No. 019492 through Claim Docket No. 019922 and recommended <br />approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the claims were approved and the report <br />filed. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being <br />motion made <br />carried, the <br />no further business to come before the Board, upon a <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />meeting adjourned at 9:51 a.m. <br />'I, 4 /l <br />ATT T: <br />Sandra M.
