REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 19, 1986 APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUEST Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the Block Party request submitted to the Board on August 12, 1986, to close the 1100 block of East Victoria Street on August 24, 1986, for a neighborhood block party and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE ST. LOUIS FROM HOWARD TO ST. VINCENT FOR FAMILY REUNION BLOCK PARTY - AUGUST 23, 1986 Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the Board on August 12, 1986, and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommenda- tion was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT CHURCH SERVICES - 205 EAST INDIANA In a letter to the Board, Mr. Odie Evans, Minister, Gospel Mission Church, requested permission to conduct church services on his private property at 205 East Indiana Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed this request and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE 100 BLOCK OF SOUTH LAFAYETTE FOR INTERNATIONAL WATERBALL CONTEST - SEPTEMBER 6-7, 1986 In a letter to the Board, Captain Daniel O'Neill, Fire Department Public Education Bureau, requested permission to close the 100 block of South Lafayette Boulevard on Saturday and Sunday, September 6th and 7th in order to host the 1986 International Waterball Contest. It is anticipated that the street would be closed from 9:00 - 4:00 p.m. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed this request and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was approved: 1. NEW INSTALLATION, NO PARKING SCHOOL DAYS 8 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. - 101-115-123 Parkwood Lane. (Requested by residents). APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following one (1) Rubbish and Garbage license application has been received: 1. John Foulks 626 Florence Street South Bend, Indiana It was noted that an inspection of the truck to be used had been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and was found to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a license.
