REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 19, 1986 <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTY REQUEST <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />Block Party request submitted to the Board on August 12, 1986, to <br />close the 1100 block of East Victoria Street on August 24, 1986, <br />for a neighborhood block party and recommend approval. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE ST. LOUIS FROM HOWARD TO ST. VINCENT FOR <br />FAMILY REUNION BLOCK PARTY - AUGUST 23, 1986 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />above referred to request submitted to the Board on August 12, <br />1986, and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by <br />Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommenda- <br />tion was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT CHURCH SERVICES - 205 EAST INDIANA <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Odie Evans, Minister, Gospel <br />Mission Church, requested permission to conduct church services <br />on his private property at 205 East Indiana Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed <br />this request and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion <br />made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE 100 BLOCK OF SOUTH LAFAYETTE FOR <br />INTERNATIONAL WATERBALL CONTEST - SEPTEMBER 6-7, 1986 <br />In a letter to the Board, Captain Daniel O'Neill, Fire Department <br />Public Education Bureau, requested permission to close the 100 <br />block of South Lafayette Boulevard on Saturday and Sunday, <br />September 6th and 7th in order to host the 1986 International <br />Waterball Contest. It is anticipated that the street would be <br />closed from 9:00 - 4:00 p.m. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic <br />Division have reviewed this request and recommend approval. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, NO PARKING SCHOOL DAYS 8 A.M. - <br />4:00 P.M. - 101-115-123 Parkwood Lane. <br />(Requested by residents). <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following one (1) Rubbish and <br />Garbage license application has been received: <br />1. John Foulks <br />626 Florence Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />It was noted that an inspection of the truck to be used had been <br />conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and was found to be in <br />compliance. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Ms. Barnard and carried, the above application was approved and <br />referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a <br />license. <br />
