REGULAR MEETING JUNE 24, 1986 driveway in front of the Morris Civic Auditorium from the north end (from St. Joseph Street) to the south end (at Colfax Street) be closed to vehicular traffic. He further advised that the Plate and Collectibles Exposition is planning a major theatrical event at the Morris Civic that evening for many of their guests in the downtown area preceded by a spaghetti picnic style dinner to be served out of doors with seating at tables hopefully located in the street area, while others will be seated around the water fountain. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed this request and recommend approval with the suggestion that the tables and chairs be set-up for quick removal in case of emergency vehicles needing to access this street. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the following three (3) traffic control devices were approved: 1. REMOVAL OF PARKING, REVISED TO HANDICAP PARKING TOW AWAY ZONE - 200 S. Main, east side, north 1/2 block, Federal Building. (Temporary Handicap Parking for Ethnic Festival, July 5th-6th). 2. REMOVAL OF 1-WAY EAST BOUND, REVISED TO 2-WAY TRAFFIC - Western Avenue between St. Joseph & Main. 3. REMOVAL OF 2-HOUR PARKING 6A-6P, REVISED TO PARKING - 500 S. St. Joseph. (Requested by residents by petition). APPROVE CONTRACTORS BONDS Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the Contractor's Bond for James V. Masters be approved retroactive to June 17, 1986 and the Contractor's Bond for Rafael Sanchez be approved effective June 24, 1986. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above Contractors Bonds were approved. FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of two -hundred -twenty (220) properties cleaned from June 13, 1986 to June 19, 1986, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as submitted was filed. FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the Certificate of Insurance for Lykowski Construction Company, 21707 West Ireland Road, South Bend, Indiana, was accepted and filed. APPROVE CLAIMS Deputy City Controller Carol M. Sanders submitted Claim Docket No. 13786 through Claim Docket No. 14459 and recommended approval. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the claims were approved and the report filed.
