REGULAR MEETING JUNE 24, 1986 <br />driveway in front of the Morris Civic Auditorium from the north <br />end (from St. Joseph Street) to the south end (at Colfax Street) <br />be closed to vehicular traffic. He further advised that the <br />Plate and Collectibles Exposition is planning a major theatrical <br />event at the Morris Civic that evening for many of their guests <br />in the downtown area preceded by a spaghetti picnic style dinner <br />to be served out of doors with seating at tables hopefully <br />located in the street area, while others will be seated around <br />the water fountain. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed this <br />request and recommend approval with the suggestion that the <br />tables and chairs be set-up for quick removal in case of <br />emergency vehicles needing to access this street. Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the following three (3) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. REMOVAL OF PARKING, REVISED TO HANDICAP PARKING <br />TOW AWAY ZONE - 200 S. Main, east side, north <br />1/2 block, Federal Building. (Temporary <br />Handicap Parking for Ethnic Festival, July <br />5th-6th). <br />2. REMOVAL OF 1-WAY EAST BOUND, REVISED TO 2-WAY <br />TRAFFIC - Western Avenue between St. Joseph <br />& Main. <br />3. REMOVAL OF 2-HOUR PARKING 6A-6P, REVISED TO <br />PARKING - 500 S. St. Joseph. (Requested by <br />residents by petition). <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond for James V. Masters be approved retroactive to <br />June 17, 1986 and the Contractor's Bond for Rafael Sanchez be <br />approved effective June 24, 1986. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above <br />Contractors Bonds were approved. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of two -hundred -twenty (220) properties cleaned from June <br />13, 1986 to June 19, 1986, was submitted. Upon a motion made by <br />Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report <br />as submitted was filed. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the Certificate of Insurance for Lykowski <br />Construction Company, 21707 West Ireland Road, South Bend, <br />Indiana, was accepted and filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Deputy City Controller Carol M. Sanders submitted Claim Docket <br />No. 13786 through Claim Docket No. 14459 and recommended <br />approval. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the claims were approved and the report <br />filed. <br />
