REGULAR MEETING JUNE 24, 1986 CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS RESOLUTION NO. 15-1986 WHEREAS, a Charles J. Johnson was the apparent owner of record on September 27, 1986 of the following described real property located in South Bend, Indiana: The South Half of Lot Numbered Sixty-three (63) as shown on the recorded Plat of Olive Heights Addition to the City of South Bend; and WHEREAS, on October 1, 1985, Charles J. Johnson, or someone acting on his behalf recorded a Quit -Claim Deed to said property to the City of South Bend in the St. Joseph County Recorder's Office; and WHEREAS, said recording was done without the knowledge of any officer, agent or employee of the City of South Bend, much less at the request of any such officer, agent or employee; and WHEREAS, the City of South Bend has no use for said property, and it being the general policy of the City of South Bend all property which it does not use should remain on the Tax Rolls of the City of South Bend, and WHEREAS, the City of South Bend by and through its Board of Public Works expressly and unequivocally renounces acceptance of this Deed; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, that the Deed recorded by Charles J. Johnson on October 1, 1985, instrument no. 8521235, is not accepted by the City of South Bend and the City acknowledges no ownership interest in this property. DATED this 24th day of June, 1986. CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS s/Katherine Barnard s/John Leszczynski ATTEST: s/Sandra Parmerlee, Clerk Board of Public Works APPROVE CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE JOB TRAINING PROGRAM AND CITY OF SOUTH BEND FOR LEGAL SERVICES Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Doug Johnson, Job Training Program, has submitted to the Board a Contract for legal services between the St. Joseph County Job Training Program and the City of South Bend, for the period July 1, 1986 through June 30, 1987, providing the mechanism for the JTP to retain the services of a Deputy City Attorney for advice and assistance on legal matters relating to the conduct of the Job Training Program. Legal services, up to a maximum of six (6) hours per month, will be available for a fixed fee of $300.00 per month, with additional services available at a rate of $50.00 per hour pending JTP Board of Directors approval. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Contract as submitted was approved.
