REGULAR MEETING JUNE 24, 1986 <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15-1986 <br />WHEREAS, a Charles J. Johnson was the apparent owner of <br />record on September 27, 1986 of the following described <br />real property located in South Bend, Indiana: <br />The South Half of Lot Numbered Sixty-three (63) <br />as shown on the recorded Plat of Olive Heights <br />Addition to the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 1, 1985, Charles J. Johnson, or <br />someone acting on his behalf recorded a Quit -Claim Deed <br />to said property to the City of South Bend in the St. <br />Joseph County Recorder's Office; and <br />WHEREAS, said recording was done without the <br />knowledge of any officer, agent or employee of the City <br />of South Bend, much less at the request of any such <br />officer, agent or employee; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend has no use for said <br />property, and it being the general policy of the City <br />of South Bend all property which it does not use should <br />remain on the Tax Rolls of the City of South Bend, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend by and through its <br />Board of Public Works expressly and unequivocally <br />renounces acceptance of this Deed; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend, that the Deed recorded <br />by Charles J. Johnson on October 1, 1985, instrument no. <br />8521235, is not accepted by the City of South Bend and <br />the City acknowledges no ownership interest in this <br />property. <br />DATED this 24th day of June, 1986. <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/Katherine Barnard <br />s/John Leszczynski <br />ATTEST: <br />s/Sandra Parmerlee, Clerk <br />Board of Public Works <br />APPROVE CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE JOB TRAINING PROGRAM <br />AND CITY OF SOUTH BEND FOR LEGAL SERVICES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Doug Johnson, Job Training <br />Program, has submitted to the Board a Contract for legal services <br />between the St. Joseph County Job Training Program and the City <br />of South Bend, for the period July 1, 1986 through June 30, 1987, <br />providing the mechanism for the JTP to retain the services of a <br />Deputy City Attorney for advice and assistance on legal matters <br />relating to the conduct of the Job Training Program. Legal <br />services, up to a maximum of six (6) hours per month, will be <br />available for a fixed fee of $300.00 per month, with additional <br />services available at a rate of $50.00 per hour pending JTP Board <br />of Directors approval. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Contract as <br />submitted was approved. <br />
