<br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT ETHNIC FESTIVAL WAITER/WAITRESS RACE - JULY 5,
<br />1986 - REFERRED
<br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office
<br />of Community Affairs, advised that Ms. Ellen Handlin of Azar's
<br />Restaurants, has requested permission to conduct the 3rd Annual
<br />Waiter/Waitress Race in conjunction with the Ethnic Festival.
<br />The race will be held on Saturday, July 5, 1986 at approximately
<br />2:00 p.m. The route requested is the same as last year beginning
<br />and finishing at Fisherman's Wharf with the course following the
<br />East Race Waterway from Colfax to the head gates and back. Upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and
<br />carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting and Police Department for review and recommendation.
<br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND
<br />Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, Director, Division of Engineering,
<br />recommended that the Contractor's Bond for H&S Construction, Co.,
<br />Inc., be approved effective May 27, 1986. Upon a motion made by
<br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above
<br />Contractor's Bond was approved.
<br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT
<br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a
<br />total of one hundred ten (110) properties cleaned from May 16,
<br />1986 to May 22, 1986, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms.
<br />Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as
<br />submitted was filed.
<br />FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard
<br />and carried, the Certificates of Insurance for Fischbach & Moore,
<br />Electrical Contracting, Inc., 205 West Wacker Drive, Chicago,
<br />Illinois, and Michiana Soccer Association, c/o Jim Ward, 15923
<br />Quail Ridge Road, Granger, Indiana, were accepted and filed.
<br />APPROVE CLAIMS
<br />Deputy City Controller Carol M. Sanders submitted Claim Docket
<br />No. 010903 through Claim Docket No. 011608 and recommended
<br />approval. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski and carried, the claims were approved and the report
<br />filed.
