177 <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 27. 1986 <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 10-1986 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE VEHICLE (FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT) <br />In a letter to the Board Fire Chief Luther Taylor advised that <br />Fire Unit #110, a 1980 Dodge Aspen was involved in an accident on <br />January 17, 1986 and the damages sustained in that accident <br />exceed the worth of the vehicle. Therefore, Chief Taylor <br />requested that the vehicle be declared no longer needed by the <br />City for the use for which is was intended and be removed from <br />the vehicle inventory. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the following Resolution <br />No. 10-1986 was approved and adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10-1986 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public <br />Works that the following Fire Department vehicle has <br />recently sustained damages which exceeds the value of <br />the unit: <br />1980 DODGE ASPEN <br />MECHANICAL #110 <br />Serial No. NL41CAF213530 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits the disposal of <br />personal property no longer needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend that the vehicle listed <br />above is damaged beyond repair and not needed by the City <br />of South Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said vehicle be disposed <br />of and removed from the City Vehicle Inventory. <br />ADOPTED this 27th day of May, 1986. <br />ATTEST: <br />s/Sandra M. Barnard <br />AND AWARD BID - CONSTRUCTION OF SANITI <br />nDTITV AWM D71rMD0T1'1iP DT Al.1P <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that as a result of a meeting between the <br />City, Mr. Wayne Werts, 1889 Riverside Drive, Mr. Joseph <br />Klebosits, 1905 Riverside Drive, and Cole Associates regarding <br />the above referred to project and as a follow-up to the Board's <br />public hearing held on April 22, 1986, at which time a <br />determination on this matter was tabled, the Board is ready to <br />move ahead, complete the legal process and make a determination <br />regarding the benefits of this project at this time. <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board of Public Works of the City <br />of South Bend now finds that the sewer works in question are <br />intended and adapted only for local use by property owners along <br />the line of the street on which they are constructed and are not <br />intended or adapted for receiving sewage from collateral sewers. <br />Further, it finds that the special benefits accruing to the <br />abutting property are equal to the estimated cost of the sewage <br />works and additionally finds that the costs of the sewers shall <br />be primarily apportioned equally among all abutting lots, without <br />any adjustment between lots. <br />Mr. Leszczynski further stated that after much discussion with <br />parties involved, the Board has reviewed all bids and it is <br />recommended that the low bid of H. DeWulf, Inc., 58600 Executive <br />
