EGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 15, 1986 <br />approached on the possibility of selling six (6) of the cylinders <br />and(he would therefore like the Board to declare obsolete six (6) <br />cylinders in order that they may be sold. <br />It was the consensus of the Board that all eight (8) cylinders <br />should be declared obsolete at this time and offered for sale. <br />As Resolution No, 7-1986, as submitted, only declared six (6) <br />cylinders obsolete, upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by <br />Ms. Barnard and carried, the Resolution was amended to read eight <br />(8) cylinders instead of six (6) cylinders. Further, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, <br />the Resolution, as amended, was adopted and the Clerk was <br />instructed to advertise the sale of these units should it be <br />determined that no other City Department has use for the <br />cylinders. Resolution No. 7-1986 is as follows: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7-1986 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />that the following equipment is no longer needed by the Fire <br />Department of the City of South Bend: <br />8 Air Cylinders <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits the disposal of <br />personal property no longer needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend that the above equipment is hereby <br />declared to be obsolete and no longer needed by the City of South <br />Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Department of the City <br />of South Bend be authorized to dispose of said equipment pursuant <br />to statute and to remove same from the City Inventory. <br />DATED this 15th day of April, 1986. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/John E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - BENDIX DRIVE <br />CONCRETE PAVEMENT REPAIRS PROJECT <br />In a letter to the Board, Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau of <br />Public Construction, requested that the Board advertise for the <br />receipt of bids for the above referred to project. This project <br />entails the repair of damaged or sunken concrete pavement on <br />Bendix Drive from Lincolnway West to Lathrop. Mr. Leszczynski <br />advised that the Common Council has approved the appropriation of <br />$165,000.00 for this project. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above <br />request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, <br />requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately <br />twenty-one (21) abandoned vehicles which are being -stored at <br />Steve & Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 South <br />
