112 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 8, 1986 <br />Situate in St. Joseph County, in the State of <br />Indiana: <br />A part of the Northeast Quarter (1/4) of Section <br />Twenty-two (22), township Thirty-seven (37) North, <br />Range Two (2) East, in the City of South Bend, in <br />St. Joseph County, Indiana, described as follows: <br />Beginning at a point 278.67 feet Southerly and <br />30.00 feet Easterly of the Northwest corner of <br />said Quarter Section (which point is the inter- <br />section of the East boundary of Olive Street <br />with the Northwestern boundary of Prairie <br />Avenue (S.R. 23); thence Northerly 16.81 feet <br />along the East boundary of said Olive Street; <br />thence Southeasterly 17.10 feet to the North- <br />western boundary of said Prairie Avenue; thence <br />Southwesterly 16.48 feet along said Northwestern <br />boundary to the point of beginning. <br />Subject to legal highways. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED for each parcel of real estate the <br />legal department is authorized and directed to file a complaint, <br />in the name of the City of South Bend, Indiana, in an appropriate <br />court of St. Joseph County, Indiana, in order that appraisers be <br />appointed to establish the value of said real estate, and all <br />other necessary and proper actions be taken to accomplish the <br />taking by eminent domain pursuant to law. <br />Adopted at the Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana, held on April 8, 1986, on the <br />13th Floor of the County -City Building, 227 West Jefferson <br />Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana 46601. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />s/John E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 6-1986 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE <br />EQUIPMENT (FIRE DEPARTMENT) <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor advised that <br />in 1984 the Fire Department updated all self-contained breathing <br />apparatus by purchasing fifty-five (55) new units and using <br />forty-five (45) of the older units as trade. There are currently <br />three (3) of the older units in storage and they now have the <br />opportunity to sell two (2) of the units. He further advised <br />that the units are Surviv-Air Model E 9838-22 with face piece and <br />air cylinder. The complete units cost approximately $625.00 in <br />1978. While still serviceable, they are not compatible with the <br />present equipment. <br />Assistant Chief Dan Mirocha was present and advised the Board <br />that the Department has a buyer for the two (2) units and would <br />request that they authorize the disposal of the units as they are <br />no longer needed by the Department. In response to a question <br />from Mr. Vance, Chief Mirocha advised that the units do still <br />meet OSHA requirements. Mr. Vance inquired if another City <br />Department could utilize the equipment and Mr. Leszczynski <br />advised that he would inquire before the units are advertised for <br />
