The Hertz Corporation has included <br />a $100.00 allowance in lieu of a <br />Chief Hurley further advised that these vehicles are currently in <br />use as rental vehicles with The Hertz Corporation. Body and <br />interior colors will vary depending on vehicles available. <br />Minimum standard equipment is described in the bid <br />specifications. The Police Department has been extremely <br />satisfied with units purchased from The Hertz Corporation in the <br />past. <br />The bid specifications were for eight (8) vehicles at an <br />estimated cost per unit of $7,280.00. The Hertz Corporation bid <br />of $6,850.00 was well below the estimated cost per unit. With <br />this in mind, the Police Department requests permission to <br />purchase nine (9) Hertz Corporation vehicles at a total cost of <br />$61,650.00. The Police Department would then dispose of nine (9) <br />mechanically unsound vehicles from the Detective Bureau Fleet <br />which would be sold at a public auction along with other city <br />vehicles. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. <br />Barnard and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />purchase of nine (9) vehicles was approved. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - PUBLIC PARKING FACILITY <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the following public parking facility license <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance: <br />The National Bank & Trust Company (Trustee) <br />115 West Franklin Place <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />The National Bank & Trust Company (Agent) <br />322 South Lafayette Boulevard <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />It was noted that the required Proof of Insurance as well as the <br />hours and rates to be charged were attached to the applications. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond for Tarne Mortakis d/b/a/ Custom Concrete be <br />approved effective April 1, 1986. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above <br />Contractor's Bond was approved. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of twenty-three (23) properties cleaned from March 21, 1986 <br />to March 26, 1986, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Deputy City Controller Carol M. Sanders submitted Claim Docket <br />No. 6647 through Claim Docket No. 7173 and recommended approval. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the claims were approved and the report filed. <br />u <br />1 <br />1 <br />
