-7 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 18, 1986 <br />RELEASE OF MAINTENANCE BOND AND ACCEPTANCE OF CERTIFIED CHECK - <br />MIAMI & IRELAND RETENTION POND REPAIR PROJECT - CONTINUED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the matter of the Release of the Maintenance Bond as <br />it relates to the above referred to project was continued as L. <br />Wolff Farms, Inc., Union Mills, Indiana, has failed to supply the <br />necessary documentation as requested and required in this matter. <br />REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND AIR SHOW FOR TRAFFIC AND CROWD CONTROL <br />ASSISTANCE - AUGUST 16-17, 1986, REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Michael L. Flora, St. Joseph County <br />Airport Authority, Safety Division Chief, South Bend AirShow, <br />Security Committee, 4715 West Progress Drive, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested South Bend Police Department traffic and crowd <br />control assistance for the South Bend AirShow 1986 to be held on <br />August 16-17, 1986. Mr. Flora further advised that proceeds from <br />the AirShow benefit Multiple Sclerosis. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the request <br />was referred to the Police Department Traffic Division and Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR STREET NAME CHANGES IN OBSERVANCE OF DYNGUS <br />DAY - MARCH 31, 1986 <br />Mayor Roger 0. Parent requested temporary street name changes in <br />observance of Dyngus Day and Solidarity Day, March 31, 1986, as <br />follows: <br />Ford Street, at Ford and Warren, to be named Dyngus <br />Drive. <br />Hill Street, from Jefferson to Corby, to be named <br />Solidarity Avenue <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - STREET <br />DEPARTMENT MATERIALS <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Bill Penn, Director, Division of <br />Transportation, requested that the Board advertise for the <br />receipt of bids for Street Department materials. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TO PLACE EIGHT (8) PERMANENT <br />SIGNS IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to the request submitted to <br />the Board on February 25, 1986, by Memorial Hospital requesting <br />permission to place eight (8) permanent signs in the public <br />right-of-way, the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Department Traffic Division and Building Department have reviewed <br />this request and recommend approval. It was noted that the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting advised that they have no <br />objections to the placement of signs at the following locations: <br />1. North side of Navarre at intersection with Main <br />2. N/E corner of Navarre & Lafayette <br />3. S/E corner of Bartlett & Lafayette (2 signs) <br />4. North side of Navarre east of Lafayette <br />5. East side of Main north of Lafayette <br />Additionally, the Bureau has no objections to the following <br />locations. However, as these signs will be placed along a state <br />highway, approval from the Indiana Department of Highways will be <br />necessary: <br />
