69 REGULAR MEETING MARCH 4. 1986 Addition, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Leszczynski stated that dedication of additional property required will be forthcoming. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the Dedication, as submitted, was accepted and approved. STATUS REPORT ON BID AWARDED ON 2/19/85 TO PETER PIRSCH FOR ONE (1) MIDI -PUMPER Mr. Vance advised that on February 19, 1985, the Board awarded the bid for one (1) midi -pumper to Peter Pirsch & Sons. He additionally advised that the specifications at that time contained a ninety (90) day delivery clause. As of March 3, 1985, the ninety (90) days has run out and the vehicle has not been delivered. In response to a question, Mr. Vance advised that the cost of this vehicle is $102,928.93. Therefore, he suggested that the Board ask the Fire Chief to look into this matter and report back to the Board with a recommendation regarding action as to whether the City should continue to wait for this unit or take any other course of action. Ms. Barnard inquired if the $20.00 per day penalty clause which was contained in the specifications goes into effect at this time. Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar stated that when a vendor is in default the penalty clause goes into effect. Therefore, Mr. Vance made a motion that the Fire Chief be requested to look into this matter and report back to the Board with a recommendation. Ms. Barnard seconded the motion and it carried. In response to questions from South Bend Tribune Reporter Judy Bradford, Mr. Vance advised that the quint units and midi -pumpers that were awarded in June of 1985 to Pierce Manufacturing will be delivered in three (3) sets of two (2) units approximately two (2) weeks apart with the first set to be delivered around the 18th of March with all units to be received by the second week in April. APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS AND ADDENDA The following Community Development Contracts and Addenda were presented to the Board for approval: BUREAU OF HOUSING RECEIVERSHIP ACTIVITY The targeted goal for the Receivership Program is to rehabilitate and manage property(ies) as qualified by Code Enforcement in accordance with the program guidelines which were included as Appendix II of the Contract. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $60,000.00. WESTERN AVENUE BUSINESS COUNCIL WESTERN AVENUE COMMERCIAL REVOLVING LOAN FUND The targeted goal for this activity is to provide loan/grant assistance to four (4) businesses. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $134,918.00. ADDENDUM II NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES NHS HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS Addendum II indicates a reduction in the amount of the contract as well as an extension of the timetable for this activity. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $93,713.42. The activity shall commence on January 1, 1985 and continue to and include December 31, 1986.
