REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 25, 1986 <br />6 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of <br />9:40 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, <br />and Mr. Michael L. Vance present. <br />City Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />Public Works was convened at <br />1986, by President John E. <br />Ms. Katherine G. Barnard <br />Also present was Chief Deputy <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made 'by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, a request by Memorial Hospital to place permanent <br />signs in the public right-of-way was added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance, and <br />carried, the minutes of the February 18, 1986, regular meeting of <br />the Board -were approved. <br />APPROVE CONTRACT FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES AT POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />MAIN STATION AND SUBSTATIONS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that at the meeting of the Board held on <br />February 18, 1986, the matter of the approval of this Contract <br />was tabled until more information could be received from the <br />Police Department in light of the fact the the East Sector <br />Substation is no longer being utilized but was included when the <br />bid was awarded. <br />Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar submitted to the Board a Contract <br />with Maintenance Systems Corporation, 203 East Mishawaka Avenue, <br />Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $15,480.00 for the period <br />January 1, 1986 through December 31, 1986, which indicates that <br />the City may substitute another building or portion of a building <br />in lieu of any of the locations mentioned in Exhibit A, provided <br />that the substitution does not increase the total floor area to <br />be cleaned. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the Contract for janitorial services with <br />Maintenance Systems Corporation was approved and executed. <br />REQUEST OF CITY AWNING OF SOUTH BEND TO ERECT ENTRANCE CANOPY AT <br />901 SOUTH MAIN STREET REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Robert L. Hinsch, Sales Manager, <br />City Awning of South Bend, 1835 South Franklin, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested permission to erect an entrance canopy at 901 <br />South Main Street. <br />The canopy will be seven feet six inches (7'6") wide with the <br />bottom of the frame being eight feet six inches (8'6") above the <br />sidewalk while the bottom of the valance is seven feet six inches <br />(7'6") above the sidewalk. The front of the canopy will be <br />twenty-three feet (23') from the curb edge. Mr. Hinsch submitted <br />with his request a diagram of the canopy to be erected. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above referred to request was referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting, Police Department Traffic Division and <br />Building Department for review and recommendation. <br />MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE INC. <br />_ CT PARADE <br />- MAY 3, 1986 - REFERRED <br />Mr. David W. Abott, President, Maurice Matthys Little League, <br />requested permission to conduct a parade on Saturday, May 3, <br />1986. The parade will begin at 9:00 a.m., consist of <br />approximately sixty (60) vehicles and utilize the following <br />route: <br />
