58 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 18, 1986 <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADDENDUM <br />The following Community Development Addendum was presented to the <br />Board for approval: <br />ADDENDUM I <br />CENTER CITY ASSOCIATES <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CAPITAL FUND <br />Addendum I indicates a time extension. The activity shall <br />commence on July 24, 1984 and shall continue to and include <br />December 31, 1986. <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above Addendum was approved and executed. <br />CONTRACT FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES AT POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THREE <br />(3) POLICE SUBSTATIONS TABLED <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to the award made on <br />December 31, 1985, for the above referred to services to <br />Maintenance Systems Corporation, P.O. Box 6125, South Bend, <br />Indiana, in the amount of $15,480.00, the Contract was being <br />presented to the Board today for approval. Board members <br />expressed concern that the Contract includes maintenance services <br />at the East Sector substation which is no longer being utilized <br />and indicated that in light of that fact, perhaps the amount of <br />the contract should be reduced. There being no one present from <br />the Police Department to advise the Board on this matter, upon a <br />motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, <br />the Contract was tabled until additional information can be <br />obtained from the Police Department. <br />AWARD BID - CAB AND CHASSIS - BUREAU OF SANITATION <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to the bids received on <br />January 28, 1986, for five (5) or more single axle trucks, it is <br />recommended that an award be made to Shamrock Ford Trucks, the <br />low bidder, in the amount of $25,703.00, with trade, for two (2) <br />cab and chassis vehicles for the Bureau of Sanitation. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, <br />the recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded. <br />APPROVE CITY OF SOUTH BEND PREVAILING SPECIFICATIONS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that submitted to the Board at this time <br />were revised City of South Bend Prevailing Specifications which <br />serve as a guide to contractors who do work on the public <br />right-of-way. The Prevailing Specifications submitted today are <br />a revision of the specifications approved in 1975. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the <br />Prevailing Specifications as submitted were approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, <br />requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately <br />twenty-six (26) abandoned vehicles which are being stored at <br />Steve & Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 South <br />Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all <br />vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners <br />and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above request was <br />approved and a date of March 4, 1986 was established for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids. <br />
