REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 24, 1987 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 1987, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq <br />and Mr. Michael L. Vance present. Also present was Chief Deputy <br />City Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the following items were added to the agenda: <br />1. Amended Letter of Credit - Cross Creek; Inc. <br />2. Traffic Control Devices <br />3. Recommendation from Department of Economic Development <br />regarding Proposals for construction and lease and <br />lease/purchase financing of a parking garage. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance, and <br />carried, the minutes of the November 17, 1987, regular meeting of <br />the Board were approved. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 34-1987 - DECLARING POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />VEHICLES OBSOLETE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Police Chief Charles T. Hurley has <br />advised that the Department has six (6) vehicles that are unfit <br />for service within the police fleet and he would therefore <br />recommend that the Board declare these vehicles obsolete at this <br />time. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. <br />DeClercq and carried, the following Resolution No. 34-1987 was <br />adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 34-1987 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public <br />Works that the following Police Department vehicles are no <br />longer suitable for the purpose for which they were intended <br />and no longer needed by the City of South Bend: <br />UNIT <br />YEAR <br />MAKE <br />SERIAL NUMBER <br />MILEAGE <br />732 <br />1979 <br />Chevrolet <br />1W27J91455651 <br />136722 <br />735 <br />1976 <br />Chevrolet <br />1L39V6J226621 <br />98964 <br />738 <br />1976 <br />Chevrolet <br />1H57Q6K472384 <br />106111 <br />629 (old) <br />1985 <br />Dodge <br />1B3BG2646FX626907 <br />73165 <br />630 (old) <br />1986 <br />Plymouth <br />1P3BB26SOHX705066 <br />46911 <br />636 (old) <br />1987 <br />Plymouth <br />1P3BB26S6HX705069 <br />57294 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits and establishes pro- <br />cedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for the <br />purpose for which it was intended which is no longer needed by <br />the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend that the vehicles listed above are not <br />fit for the purpose for which they were intended and are of <br />minimal value. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said vehicles be disposed of and <br />removed from the City Inventory. <br />ADOPTED this 24th day of November, 1987. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/John E.
